So with that logic it's Reiner and Bertolt's theme too, since Apple Seed is Bertolt's "theme", and Apple Seed is half of You See Big Girl, which is an extended Vogel im Kafig
At least Eren’s mom went down trying to break out of the Titan’s fist. Some other soldiers that died didn’t even struggle because they were frozen stiff with terror. I don’t blame them, though.
If you guys didnt notice at 3:30 Armin is actually there when Erens first transformation happened But he is too shocked at Eren's death to even notice that a titan came out of a titan
Well, that scene only give him more hatred to kill all the titan.with or without her death, eren would still joining survey corps since his intention is to reach freedom.
Isayama loves making characters contradict themselves when they're facing death. Like how Bertholdt was crying to his "friends" for help while he was talking all that cool shit just a moment ago. Mike saying "as long as we keep fighting, we haven't lost yet!" yet crying like a mf when he was getting eaten. The fat military dude who was trying to push Grisha off the wall was talking some shit about how the world is cruel, how he's prepared for the day he dies because he already witnessed so much cruelty, but was again, crying like a bitch when getting eaten by a titan. There are more examples but you get the gist. Same here with Carla, obviously as a mother she would want her child to survive. But she's also a human being, and human beings are selfish. That's why she had to cover her mouth when saying "don't leave...", it's not something a mother is supposed to say, but she's also just a human. Who the hell would want a gruesome AND lonely death? It's little things like these that makes AOT such a great show. So many small details to appreciate.
Yeah man i was deadass tearing up when i first saw it. She was a mom and wanted her kids to survive but she still wad human she still was her own person and like everyone else she wanted to live but in the end she was eaten
A persons true character is revealed when faced with death, and as eren is dying in the stomach of a titan, he still screams out in rage to kill the titans and still won’t back down. Eren is a true fighter to the end.
@@truecreation8803 yep, his unyielding mentality was always impressive, sure now everyone says he is great after latest manga chapters and all, but even when he was a kid, eren was impressive.
0:28 - This is the moment that I knew this is the best anime ever made. The sudden change in the psyche of Karla is absolute perfection. This is EXACTLY how a mother acts. Safety of Eren meant a world to her, she loved him more than anything in the world, so it was the most important thing in her mind. But once he is saved and she says her goodbye, she suddenly realizes she is about to be murdered and eaten by a giant monster, and she starts crying and begging their children to come back and save her, like any normal person would. The voice acting, the tension, the character and world building, the animation, the music - it's all 10/10. As haunting and horrifying as this scene is, it's absolute perfection. And show only gets better with every episode. Absolutely amazing. No wonder it's considered to be in the top 3 best tv series ever produced, alongside Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones. It really deserves the recognition it gets.
Yeah, you wrote exactly what I thought. This anime shows genuin human feelings, that's why I love, when someone is about to die he frightenes and feels regret, but alot of other shows don't reflect that
100%, facts. This first episode, right down to its title "To you, 2000 years from now", right from it first frame, right down to its last words. Absolute masterpiece.
After part 2 of Season 3, these scenes and Season 1 as a whole looks entirely different. Rewatching it now it feels like a new season all of a sudden. There is nothing similar to this masterpiece nowadays. Attack on titan is propably one of the best written stories ever.
@@jetonkrasniqi1214 ending was definitely a far cry from the rest of the story. The things that tied together at the end were 100% disappointing. Levi’s conclusion was one of the few great parts of the ending
@@jetonkrasniqi1214 Be glad he didn’t explain it to you cause I can tell he was just gonna regurgitate what everybody’s been saying on youtube about the ending and even if the ending didn’t meet your expectations, it doesn’t make the entire series bad.
Ben SWOLO I don't even think this counts as a spoiler because the non-manga readers don't even know who Falco is or why Eren would reveal himself to Reiner, or even where this happens.
It really didn't. Armin obviously doesn't mean man-kind in general, they had no idea people outside the walls existed. What he meant is "he isn't the enemy of man-kind IN THE WALLS". And that much remained true to the very end. Putting aside what Eren did to the entire world, he saved all Paradis and people within the walls from War and on top of that, also saved them from curse of Ymir. Eren did not destroy humanity within the walls, he really saved it, and "destroyed" all titans like he said he would. He had to become a world destroying, genocidal devil to achieve it, but he delivered on all of his promises.
@@mitromney **SPOILERS FOR THE ENDING** except the extra pages ruined it by destroying Paradis and cursing Mikasa’s bloodline with the fate. It was a risky but hopeful ending which people had a chance of living peacefully and Iseyama ruined it. But credit where it’s due, the series got really dark with those extra pages, way darker than Eren killing everyone but Eldians. If there are any other merits to the extra pages, I’m not seeing them.
This anime made you cry on a episode with almost no character development... and that was episode 1 *so critics you got nothing on attack on titan cuz you be crying too on episode 1*
@Luka i mean i was near crying yet no real tears were shed.. then again in my own case i have an issue where on one hand my emotions are ridiculous and overwhelming and in other cases they are nonexistent.. like fear for example.. i have little i fear..
@Luka yeah exactly for me it was mostly with Hannes though.. i wasn't as attached to kenny and though erwin was sad in a way i feel like he would also have wanted armin to survive as opposed to himself because of his immense positivity troughout. for Hannes though.. that hit like a truck mainly because of the fact Eren couldn't do shit in that moment due to his wounds.. wich made it hit even harder
I became interested in this soundtrack when Eren's mother died. *I fell in love with it when Eren transformed to fight Annie after his squad was killed.*
BeauSanguine You are special bro. Ily. And as much as I want to read the manga, I can’t do it because I can never visualize any of the fights. Want my first experience to be the best it can be, you feel me? xD
Oruo's death was super sad. The fact that he was only behind Mikasa,Levi and Mike in terms of skill. He could have escaped with Eren but he went to avenge his team and failed.
3:30 They always say Titans can’t transform in enclosed or confined spaces. Eren transforming inside of another Titan really makes this moment shine for me. His rage combined with the fact that there was no transformation lightning make me feel like Eren activated his first transformation with sheer will. Without Ymir’s help. You can really feel the embodiment of the rage and suffering in his first strike against the Titans who showed him how cruel the world really was.
Actually, Titans can't transform in confined spaces because the "normal" definition of a confined space in the AoT verse is like a well, or a cave, which are usually made out of concrete or rocks. Eren in this moment was inside a Titan's stomach, which is not made out of concrete or rocks, which meant he could just get the hell out of there. Also, how do you know there's not a lightning? There doesn't just need to be a bolt coming down from the heavens to make him transform, in his first fight with Annie, we just saw yellow lightning enveloping him and then he transformed instead of the fancy bolt of lightning to the sound of at'aek on titan.
This.. This video.. Made me realize how far I've come, after so many episodes. I'm currently watching season 5, well season 4 part 3 which is the last season. This video gave me chills. Especially on the time skip of the video: 1:19 and 3:08. This showed me the beginning of the whole plot, and why there are more seasons airing up until now.. Gosh, I love this anime I'm honored to be a part of this journey, It will definitely have a special place in my heart, ever..
When I watched that last scene as he transforms in the woods and everyone hears him it gave me goosebumps so big that’s when I first noticed how much the soundtrack improved it
No, YSBG is much better. Vogel im Käfig has too many lame moments and it gains its energy really slowly while the whole first half of the YSBG is gorgeous and the second one is just something overwhelming
0:17 Like Kenny said, “Everyone had to be drunk on something to live” For Carla, it was her kids. But if she told them to stay they would have die, so she covers her mouth to not cry out as much in the end......
All these scenes sum up why eren is doing what he is doing in the manga He is simply giving it back to those who tried to take away his freedom The alliance HAS NO FUCKING RIGHT TO STOP EREN FROM DOING WHAT HE IS DOING
3:39 This one scene made this whole show for me. I was already watching it of course, but this just... I remember just being in disbelief, and I felt the power of it too. One of the most iconic scenes in anime for me
Eren's first transformation is proof that his character arc was an experiment. It's to see what would happen if a shonen-like protagonist was put into a completely unfiltered, hellish situation that stuff like Dragon Ball, Naruto, and One Piece don't dare to tread. Any cheesy attempt to rage or fight back was met with him being shot down, captured, traumatized, and/or sometimes almost killed.
The first half of Vogel Im Kafig (which is the half we don't hear as much) is actually at the end of S1E7 when Mikasa reminisces Eren's Titan saving her. Where she feels she saw the "embodiment of humanity's rage".
I remember when I started watching AoT and cried at the first episode. I'm getting chills and emotional at the same time because things have really changed in the manga 😭
They most certainly don't. They don't even have a working digestive system. They eat humans until they're full and puke up a squishy, crushed up mess of chewed up people, then go back to work eating more.
@@omarsabir1210 Yep, that's exactly what they do. The problem is that shifters are incredibly rare, so they tend to eat a lot of people in search of one. Then they proceed to spit them out when they get full because they can't poop.
