Hi Guys, today I’m reviewing the All Ware Stainless Steel Pineapple Easy Slicer and De-Corer. LINK to Slicer: amzn.to/1Qcw5lr
It measures 3.25 inches across on the bottom and 6.25 inches long up to the tab. The unit consists of the plastic handle and stainless steel rod.The teeth of the slicer cut into the pineapple as you turn the handle.
Cut the top off a medium pineapple. I’m testing this slicer on a 7 inch tall pineapple (after the top is cut off). Place the slicer in the center of the pineapple. Turn the handle while holding the pineapple. Keep turning until you can’t anymore and that’s when you’ve hit the bottom. Pull up the unit firmly. Remove the handle by pressing the tabs. Turn the rod upside down and slide the pineapple rings off.
This unit works well of medium size pineapples with hardly any waste. I used this on a large pineapple and there was a lot of waste. So, I would recommend this unit for medium or smaller pineapples only. It’s a nice gadget at $5.50 for those who eat a lot of pineapple and those who hate using a knife.

I own on and love it. The pineapple used wasn’t ripe enough that’s why it was so loud and hard to pull out. The best way to test for ripeness is to smell it. If it doesn’t have a strong pineapple smell, leave on the counter for a few days.

I've used one for years, works great. For larger pineapples I'll slice up the shell and fillet the pieces to get the rest of the fruit.

NICE REVIEW. SUGGESTION: Next time, keep it straight. If you want to get it out of the pineapple easily, once drilled down, slice down the side of the pineapple shell, before removing contents upward, it will reduce the suction. You could even slice it on both sides, provided you don't want to use the outer husk as a decorative glass for a fancy beverage or as a fruit salad holder, to be thrown out, after use.

If you cut a little deeper until you see the center cutting blade just starting to come out the bottom of the pineapple, there will be less section/effort when pulling out the tube. Also, there's no need to remove the handle to get the pineapple off the shaft. Just take a sharp paring knife and cut the pineapple (downward) while the tip of the knife touches the metal tube. You'll be able to slide the fruit off as individual loops. Then you can eat them as is, or keep them stacked and cut them again into smaller bit size pieces.
