- Windows NT 5.0 Beta 1, Interim Developer Release, and Beta 2 used the NT 4.0 shutdown, not Windows 2000 Beta 3 builds 1946 - 1976 startup as shutdown sound. See: • Microsoft Windows NT 5...
UPDATE: Ando Ganteng believes he has gone to the untrusted beta builds site (Old-DOS.ru) because he has known the site since 2013 and this site is what he knew first before WinWorldPC and another person has recently uploaded variants of build 2031, none of them used the sounds from builds 1946-1969.

@@CNETech There are 2 websites about downloadable betas serving Win2000 builds including variants of build 2031. winworldpc(dot)com: 2031.1 Pro (plays RTM sound) 2031.1 Advanced Server (RTM) 2031.1 Server (RTM) 2031.3 Server (RTM) old(dash)dos(dot)ru (oscollect): *2031.1 Pro original (1946)* 2031.1 Pro (alt), Server, and Adv. Server (RTM) 2031.1 Pro, Adv. Server, German (RTM) 2031.1 Pro, Adv. Server, Trad Chn (RTM) So it's only one ISO that contains that sound

I always thought that the *startup* sound used in builds 1946 to 1969 was actually the *shutdown* sound of the previous builds. To me, it honestly still feels as though it would fit better as a shutdown sound rather than a startup sound. The actual shutdown sound of builds 1946 to 1969 feels *way* too underwhelming. Interesting video!

Windows 2000 was called Windows NT 5.0 (possibly as a placeholder name), then starting with at least build 1946, it was renamed to Windows 2000

That is the correct shutdown sound for beta 1 and 2. The one you are thinking of is the Windows 2000 beta 3 builds 1946 to 1969 startup. NT 5 never used that in beta 1 or 2.
