You clearly never played before the health nerf. Having to fight bosses with somewhere between 8-9k health that spam weakness, shields, and all use some form of storm spells made old DS into a huge war of attrition.
I actually loved zafaria as a kid and have so much nostalgia from it, cause the quests would take forever you could chat with your friends for so long and just jam to some music
zafaria even for me as a kid just felt bad to quest in like the world just felt like it took forever todo overall and not in the sense of it being big but the fact that the quests took so long plus had some of the most annoying bosses for your level.
I can’t say much about the gameplay of the world since I’ve never played the world, but Lemuria is one of my favorites purely for concept and the characters. Stallion Quartermane and the other heroes are such fun characters and the idea of a lost world made by some outer being trying to play god is really cool. The various locals and lore of stuff there was real interesting to me but yeah idk if the gameplay was a slog
So cool seeing you make content again but this would be amazing if you showed yourself going through the cities and showing the aesthetic. I personally don't play much but always loved the world design.
Wished you would've spent a little more time talking about why each world ranks the way they do, how much fun you had playing or memories of each world, but still a fun video!
blaze ik your prolly busy w backlog of stuff at the moment but pirate101 has a 2nd arc confirmed theres like only 2 quests more at the moment since you left but hope to see you play it maybe side note though you'll need memebership since ones in aquila :/
honestly i really think the game peaks in the first 60 levels. the amount of spells you learn dropping off a cliff really affects the later worlds for me. celestia introducing astral magic was insane to me as a kid. i bought areas with crowns instead of getting subs, but any time i found a polymorph card in the bazaar i would scoop it up and waste it fighting lord nightshade or in practice pvp
@@LightningStrikes2345 idk I just loved the vibe there. The story was good and seemed to have some real life undertones. The enemies were decent and I liked the last dungeon. Also I’m an ice main and it’s where I belong. I like yetis and the shadow spell ice gets with the penguin barrage is fun
Why was I so pumped for azteca and it became one of my favorite worlds and then after I was a bit disappointed going through Polaris haha, Celestia is also one of my favorites, I loved the water! Dragonspyre and Mooshu were a pain in the ass as a life before getting forest lord, when it said defeat 10 enemies I was really over it, life really needs an AOE earlier on because these worlds would of been so much better and quicker! The dungeons in dragonspyre were impossible to do alone, I always needed to join a queue and wait so much time for someone else to join and there was always so many levels of ennemies, it was one of the hardest worlds for the level in my opinion but I went through Zafaria after it was nerfed so definitely was much easier to quest alone
What I don't understand is people ranking the first arc worlds highly. Please stop rating them solely for nostalgia when there's so many other things to factor in.
i definitely agree, rating on nostalgia is so unfair to the lists integrity but the newest worlds are so disappointing, so even if we weren't blind off nostalgia, first arc has some good worlds
@@asingulartowlett1389 i know its a personal list but hes still not ranking it based on which worlds he thinks are better hes ranking it based off nostalgia and other factors
personally i rank the first worlds highly but not top of the list high myself because the worlds just feel fun at that stage of the game to quest in since your not just blade blade aoe every fight. it also helps that those worlds feel like they got alot more in them todo quests wise like theres a proper wide range where later worlds can easily end up being talk quest into a mob fight into a boss fight and repeat. some of the starting worlds lose points for sure like marleybone where the map layout is pretty boring to explore or mooshoo having extremely long winded dungeons and map layouts where its the same path 50 times so any back and forth was a drag which they had a few quests like that.
I still think my biggest grief with Celestia is how wonky the story is compared to the rest of Arc 2. It feels like they cut a lot more than just the Spiral Geographic society fight from that part of the game due to how many holes are in the story.
Leaving comments with my thoughts on each world: Wizard City: I agree Krokatopia: High C to low B tier Marleybone: Low S tier Mooshu: High B tier. I found it enjoyable and loved the battle theme, but I didn't find anything exceptional Dragonspyre: I agree Grizzleheim: S tier Celestia: I put in D tier. A very forgettable final boss fight Wysteria: I agree Zafaria: Low D tier Avalon: I agree (4 S's so far, but I love em all) Azteca: F Aquila: Doesn't feel like a world, but I think I'd put it at C Khrysalis: High C/Low B (lower than B) Darkmoor: A tier Polaris: High A tier Arcanum: C Empryia: I love its themes and its story, but it feels like it's missing something, I just don't know what. Low A tier Catacombs: I didn't do it Karamelle: I agree Lemuria: Honestly can't remember much about it, but I didn't have many negative feelings towards it. D tier I didn't do the rest yet
love these types of wiz vids. would you be interested in making an updated gear video? I took a big break and now I don't know what the best gear is past Darkmoor!
Here's what my list would look like. S~ Azteca, Avalon, Marleybone, Wintertusk, (Old Wizard City before the revamp) A~ Krokotopia, Zafaria, Aquila, The Four Dungeons B~ Wallaru, Polaris, Catacombs, Karamelle, Wysteria, Grizzlehiem C~ Lemuria, Mooshu, Mirage, Arcanum, Celestia D~ Dragonspyre, Catacombs, Novus, Empyrea F~ Khrysalis, Wizard City
Celestia is genuinely my favorite Wiz world lol!! It’s the most creatively themed world imo, it actually had an original concept as opposed to KI’s formula of vague (and poorly aged tbh) regional/cultural themes. It really feels like a unique world that would exist in the Spiral, it’s whimsical and fun, and it somehow balanced steampunk+underwater themes to make something entirely new. It doesn’t look great obviously lol, it’s not super aesthetically pleasing but I don’t even care. Celestia my beloved I will defend you to my grave. That being said, the Pirate101 worlds are better than any Wiz world imo 💔
Wow… It’s been years now… Almost a decade since I watch your content. Since last year, I have been dedicated to making progress on my Wizards. I currently now have three maxes, Death, Fire, and Life, and am now working on my Myth who is in Mirage, and for my Ice, Storm, and Balance… Those three have recently gotten to the Arcanum. I will hold off ranking the worlds until I experience them with all Wizards, however.
I couldn't make a full tier list since I am only in Azteca, but I will say that initially, I would have put Avalon at F tier since I didn't know it existed and really wanted to get to Azteca since I am a Dino nerd. But after playing it, immediate S tier.
Aside from our dislike of Dragonspyre we are pretty much complete opposites! It's always so interesting to see how wildly we all diverge on our experiences. My top worlds are Empyrea and Azteca and my least favorite are Krokotopia and Karamelle.
I like all of the worlds but the most grindy to me were celestia, Avalon, and khrysalis. I think I’ve just ran through those worlds enough times with multiple characters I got kinda sick of those particular worlds. But all in all each world has something cool and unique about it
Empyrea prolly my favorite currently as it had a lot of callbacks to the previous worlds and Nexus was a supernatural fever dream, one of my favorite dungeons lol
The fact that Zafaria is so low on this list makes me sad. It's my favorite world of all time in regards to the scenery, music, and story. I didn't even care about the defeat and collect quests, loved the world that much.
I agree so much with Dragonspyre! It is so boring, long, it feels like Dragonspyre fighting the same boss over and over again because its so long and the bosses just look weird to me and I am not a fan of the orange and red theme. Khrysalis is an S tier for me. I love the story and every character is a different species of bug! It made it creepy and interesting. I love a part of the world is in a big beehive it is so creative. It is my favorite of that arc of worlds.
wizard city has a nice setting and is super nostalgic but judging it by how fun it was compared to the others I think it would score lower since the missions are super easy and your using low level spells
personally id swap dragonspyre and khrys... i hated questing through khrys and i was there when the lvl cap was 50 so i got a personal connection to dragonspyre
Empyrea has got to be my #1, an S+ for sure! It’s all about the characters for me because I’m a solo quester (death seldom needs support imo), but having Pork, Beans, Sparck, etc made this world so fun and emotional. Absolutely adore Empyrea for the story, and I was so sad to continue on without them
Empyrea may be the worst world to ever exist in wizard101, the battles are too hard, the atmosphere sucks and it’s the only world Kingsile needs to delete😌
I agree, I love it, there’s so many diverse aspects to the world and the story in particular (especially the lead up to the showdown between Raven and Spider) was engaging to me at least.
