The Club World Cup can be seen and interpreted in the eyes of many people, as the greatest title in history that a club can achieve, and although different versions of Club World Cups may have existed in the understanding of many fans and even journalists, FIFA considers only the former Intercontinental Cup and the current Club World Cup, as achievements with this honor and expression.
The first edition of the Club World Cup took place in 1960, and brought together the Champion of the Copa Libertadores, against the Champion of the UEFA Champions League, and this format, with only the European and South American continents measuring forces, lasted until the year 2004. In 2000, the first Club World Cup took place, with the participation of all continents, but in 2001, the competition was suspended for operational reasons, only returning to active in 2005 and lasting until the present day.
