This is going to be a really interesting tournament to watch. NJPW is in a unique position here and I'm excited to see what they do. Will they focus on the what remains of the talent that have been circling the main event since 2018-2019? Or will they pull the trigger on a fresh crop of talent and push the company into a new generation? I think the latter but time will tell.
I may be wrong but i feel they may have spoiled that Mox is dropping the title back to Naito at Forbidden Door considering the IWGP Champion has been in the G1 since I started watching New Japan a few years back.
This is a really solid lineup and takeshita being in it fufills alot of dream matches, Nakajima could totally be in it since he is a freelancer at the moment but it sucks he isn't being picked up by anyone at the moment.
Yo whats up Sooplex! Been watching ur content for over a year on tiktok and recently subscribed to your youtube on my main account on here. You ever thought about doing a WWE 2K Custom Universe Video with you booking WWE and other shows like maybe AEW,TNA,ROH,NJPW,etc? Sorry for the yap in this comment but just wanted to say you’re doing great man and stay blessed❤
@@Zander2021 he is the most ready of the core 4: Shota Ren and Yuya. Shota since day 1 has proven that he can hang with the big guns. Him then Shota, Yuya and Ren. But Yota Tsuji is ready
Annual summer tournament held since 1991. It's as important to NJPW as the Royal Rumble is to WWE. Format has changed over the years but in the modern era it's mostly round robin rather than single elimination (2 blocks with 10 guys each, you face everyone in your block over the course of a month-long tour and accumulate points for a win). The G1 winner gets a Heisman-style trophy and a MITB-style briefcase with a contract in it, guaranteeing an IWGP title match at Wrestle Kingdom in the Tokyo Dome.
Say what yall want but kenta winning this would be fun. I would love to see a kenta remontada of some sort and see him in the picture at least a couple times. I’ve always loved his style and he’s always seemed like a main eventer. I can only hope he can be taken seriously
I think TJP has a solid chance of running spoiler for some people after the insane near complete comeback run he had in BOTSJ's. He's not gonna win but I see him upsetting some people. Or maybe I just want to see more matches from him. Hopefully Naito wins the title back from Moxley at Forbidden Door so the title will be present for the tournament like Sho was for the Super Juniors.
Looks like Moxley is dropping the title back to Naito unless New Japan will allow their champ to not participate for the very first time in a very longe time. Most likely he’s dropping the title cause I don’t see him holding it until Wrestle Kingdom
Jake Lee is actually someone who would succeed in wwe and even tho I’m not a wwe fan I hope he goes there Lee is someone who is a genius in character work and a very safe wrestler with a simple moveset but he’s still below average in the ring so perfect for wwe bc nobody there can wrestle anyway
