Just in case you still got that question, first time as a child he gets saved/sustained by the primordial roots (maybe Heng had something to do with it since she can "hear" the roots maybe not) then still injured Yi got taken to Eigong to fully heal him. Since then he has always been able to recover from lethal dmg thanks to the roots (not even Yi can really explain why/how) he just pops up on a root after, so this happens the second time, third he is probably gone for good since there are no more roots since the whole place got blown up
@@アキレス-j2r The entire ship they're on is the Root they basically turned an entire landmass with the roots into a spaceship so there's no Root left on Penglai as far as i know
