The State nicknamed "the food basket of the nation" was named Benue after the River Benue, which is one of the major rivers in Africa. The state capital is Makurdi. The investment opportunities in the state are numerous and includes tourism, agriculture, mining and so on. It houses several educational institutions like Benue State University. There are 23 local government areas in Benue State and the major tribes in the Benue state are the Tiv, Idoma and Igede. Life in Benue is interesting because of the hospitality of the people. Benue State also account for about 60% of food production in Nigeria. And it is the home to the largest yam market in Nigeria and in West Africa called "The Zaki Biam Yam Market."

You don't know much about Benue State. First you didn't consider Igede as one of the dominant tribes. Two you don't know Benue is also bounded with Ebonyi State. Next time you want to do your research about Benue or any state, don't rely on your friends from the area because of likelihood of bias. Also go to Google for more information about an area or State or country as you choose to go on a voyage of research. However, Good luck!
