Poor Katheryn Howard, she was probably 17 when she married Henry (49), although some sources put her as young as 15. She got arrested for adultery because of love letters between her and Thomas Culpeper but the actual execution happened because of her sexual past with Derehem. She herself never admitted to this and insisted she was raped by him until her death neither did she admit to cheating on Henry. She was barely 19 when she got executed, this happened without a formal trial, she was supposedly laid in the same place as her cousin Anne Boleyn but her remains were never identified. She supposedly spent the night before her death practicing how to lay her head on the block. Sorry to the other ladies but she might have lowkey won this competition

@@annahajkova5642 oh yeah definitely, she had the most tragic life that poor women, I really REALLY don’t like Henry and his fat -- he was horrible to his wife’s, beheading? Heck no

The language used in this song is also meant to indicate just how young Katherine Howard was. 'Birds and the bees', 'Enoughsie' - it's childish language and terminology because K Howard was the youngest of the wives. She was anywhere between 15 and 17 when she met and married Henry. She was groomed from a young age by these men, and Francis Dereham as well as Thomas Culpeper were both beheaded before Katherine was and their heads displayed for their connection and acts with Katherine. Among the six queens, her life was the shortest and arguably the saddest as well.

Sam Pauly's Broadway version of this absolutely kills my heart every time. I wish there was a way that Katherine Howard could see Six and that not everybody still just sees it from Henry's perspective anymore.

@@michaelinthebathroom7560 I’ve never watched her version and not cried. Aimee Atkinson’s is a cleaner album recording but it loses a lot of the emotion because it comes off more lighthearted than the subject matter should be.

@@lka9900 I'm an S/A victim and every time I watch it the final chorus and the part just before hits me so hard. Her realization and the breaks in her voice. The utter pain radiating off of her. It's my favorite song on the live soundtrack.

I find this song to be really sad. When I hear people laughing in the live version when she talks about "strumming the lute" I am like she's 13, its not funny.

I always thought it was laughter from discomfort

D, don't worry! We know all men don't suck. This song is focused more on how a girl/woman can be groomed into certain behaviors around men, and then damned for it. But there are good men, I'm watching one right now! 😄

This song is the most fucked up song in the entire Six Set. Disguised as a pop song but the lyrics will stab and twist your heart. -- especially Sam Pauly's live version.

Right, it kinda felt like a child rapist apologist going on a rant. Like this girl was legitimately molested and raped her whole life. It's not just a "ooh men suck" song.
