Sombron made this worse by her attempts to earn his favor that she crossed ALOT of lines that she fought Alear and Co. to the death in the end BECAUSE she knew she crossed to many lines to ever be redeemed (Sheesh, her relationship with him reminded me ALOT of Almedha and Ashnard from the Tellius Duology, Sombron being far more successful in getting tools via his children compared to Ashnard who discarded Soren and Almedha the moment the both outlived their usefulness once he got control over his/her uncle/elder brother by using Soren as a hostage, Soren no longer being useful because his magical potential appeared LATER ON, Ashnard was just not patient enough to wait for it, and Almedha was useless once she lost her powers, stuck in her human form and Ashnard didn't even TRY for another kid with her as he THANKFULLY missed just how powerful Branded can be if given time to grow, as Stefen, Zelgius, Micaiah, and Soren showed, Stefen the strongest showing by being the one who's lived the longest out of all of them! But out of fairness, Ashnard WAS human and had a TIGHT window to implement his plans before he was too old and feeble to do anything! Sombron being a Dragon, and one with the power to be a KING level had "ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD" to do exactly that! And as we know, with BOTH versions of him, the Alt NOT EVEN HAVING HIS FREUDIAN EXCUSE. Alear, Nel, Nil, Rafal, Vayle and all the rest of his kids SUFFERED GREATLY FOR IT! I'm guessing he never reproached Zephia because he found her too valuable on the field to have a kid with her compared to his other mates, that and he might have figured she'd BAIL the moment she had his kid! Remember the dude was OBSSESSED with not interacting with Elyos as much as humanly possible, only acting himself if it's "too important to leave in the hands of his minions!) I'm sure watching all the other female dragons have children with Sombron was no small comfort (even if their kids were pretty much cannon fodder walking Knowing he'll kill them for even the SLIGHTEST show of weakness! Past Alear behavior being a PERFECT example that they were afraid anything but no emotions and bringing in results were the only way to avoid being labeled, and even then they feared being labeled "defective!") and I'm sure she was slightly annoyed that even Lumera got to be a mommy (without even realizing herself funny enough that she kind of HAD the family she wanted in Marni and Griss, but screwed that up something fierce!) Zelestia however despite her circumstances being EQUALLY as bad as Zephia (Seriously, Zephia watched everyone she care for getting Vaped by her early power! Zelestia got to see her home burn, her people and parents murdered and her fleeing implies Alt Sombron LITERALLY hunted her down himself to be THROUGH in wiping out THE ENTIRE MAGE DRAGON RACE for DARING TO STAND UP TO HIM! Only failing because funny enough, her being WEAKER then normal Mage Dragons, the exact OPPOSITE of Zephia actually SAVED her as he was unable to detect her by the time she made it to Lythos) but as said "the company she keeps" in that Lumera was a HUGE positive influence on her as Alt Lumera was just as Prime Lumera was in being welcoming to her as she did have a strong family relationship with her and Alt Alear (Seriously funny that Lumera is an EXCELLENT Adopted Mother/Sister to oppose Sombron HORRIBLE Bio Father/Husband-Mate! Their relationship was more then "Light vs Dark it seems LOL) she also takes from Xander from Fates in that she GREW into her power as she's an EXCELLENT Mage Knight, good amount of Strength, and Decent amount of Magic to be viable in Physical and Magical Damage! Her Class Skill of her Exclusive Class assuring she's taking advantage of an enemy's "lesser" defensive Stat to deal effective damage. So despite being "the weakest Mage Dragon" in Alt Elyos, she sure is powerful! And because of her more well adjusted personality from her familyhood with Alt Lumera and Alear, she was MORE then able to appreciate her relationship with the Four Winds, Nel, Etc then Zephia with her Four Hounds and "Not" Veyle (My nickname for "Evil Edgelord Fell Princess Personality in Veyle) where she saw them more as tools then those she could be close to (and missing Griss till it was too late, and making herself irredeemable in Mauvier's eyes for both killing Marnie and then mocking her death! The rage he has in his vs. Conversation with her and Griss in Chapter 21 is all you need to know on that) and Veyle no matter what version of her as she saw the other "children of Sombron" even Past Alear (who she missed because she had quickly forgotten them, assuming they died, only remembered their DEEDS then what they looked like, was CAKED in Divine Energy and that Red and Blue mix and white/gold outfit made it hard to figure out right there and then, and of course "assuming so negatively of Lumera, she would NEVER assume she'd have adopted one of Sombron's kid's, much less have a kid, bio or not in the first place...or even that she COULD infuse Divine energy into a Fell Dragon child! Sombron outright didn't even give a fuck! Alear was on their shit list either all, he would have just been MORE determined to see them dead as I doubt he took BETRAYEL well...even if he was asking for it by how he raised his kids! Past Alear's look of "uncaringness" when they beat him just said it all in how they had NO familial love for the bastard! Even Nel felt the same damn way! Cept she didn't get Alear's Amnesia to be able to forget the entire shitshow to get a fresh start like Alear did!) They really wanted to make Nel and Rafal the only transforming units in the game. Every other dragon either dies or loses their stones (and they almost set us up into thinking that Nel and Rafal would end up not being able to transform in the main game too).

To be fair, when they untether "Corrinsexuels" off of "Corrin" (or make them far more reasonable) they tend to be MUCH better written! Hell Camilla in Engage is far better then Fates Camilla because while she still ZERO INS on Corrin! She's not talking about her 24/7 and when around they act as SISTERS rather then Camilla "implying something more!" (Honestly the Fates Royals are REALLY well written when this happens to them! Elise and Sakura can get away with being locked to Corrin because of the "Little Sister Trope" and THANKFULLY NOT BEING LACHESIS! Good god even Eirika is better then Lachesis in not giving implications they want to "bone their brother" and Sacred Stones the game was FULL of the "insinuating" Twin sibling incest! Good God their Personal Legendary Weapons are based on Twins who wanted to bone each other! I.S. (Hell ALOT of the Emblem Rings characterizations make them leagues better, but I guess that's cause their characterization implies their PAST the point where they had their character growth kicked in HARD, like Sigurd acting alot like "post Chapter 5: Doorway to Destiny" Sigurd who was a GHOST at that point! Largely AFTER Seliph kills Arvis! Makes sense, all of the Emblems are PASSED the point where they completed their character arcs in their own stories! Well minus Veronica, who despite her body and look being at the major end portion of her character growth, being that Heroes is still ongoing, her personality in Engage is of her "Heroes Book 1" where she's still obsessed with invading Askr as she was at the start of Book 1 before she started to get eclipsed by other more dangerous baddies and became alot like Hortensia by Chapter 14 LOL) though again, the point is they have to go through their character development, annoying or not! That's how a story is structure! It would be boring if the character got ALL THEIR GROWTH IN CHAPTER 1! )
