For example, the Quran describes the development of the human embryo in detail in Surah Al-Mu’minun (23:12-14), which remarkably aligns with modern embryology discovered centuries later. Additionally, the Quran mentions the protective nature of the atmosphere (Surah Al-Anbiya, 21:32) and the expansion of the universe (Surah Adh-Dhariyat, 51:47), concepts that scientists have only recently understood and accepted. Furthermore, in Surah At-Tariq (86:5-7), the Quran speaks of the creation of man from "a fluid, ejected, proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs." Modern interpretations relate this to the biological origins of sperm, which forms in the testes located near the backbone and then passes through the male reproductive tract. This aligns with discoveries in human anatomy that were unknown at the time the Quran was revealed. These examples show that the Quran contains knowledge that has stood the test of time, offering insights that science is only now catching up to. From a Muslim perspective, this reinforces the belief that the Quran is a divine revelation, not just a historical text, and that its teachings are enduringly relevant.
