I was at this show. Phenomenal. Also very glad to see Allan having FUN! He hasn't done that in years. I hope they do more gigs with this group. And BRUNER IS A MONSTER!!!! Really added a ton of energy!
@jamesedwardtheobald Interesting observation. I was at 7 of the 8 Yoshi's shows and had lunch with Allan during that period. He was certainly excited to be playing at Yoshi's but I feel like he really enjoyed the music and musicians at the BP the other night. I have seen him and chatted with him several times in between and just hadn't seen him as happy as Friday in quite a while. The "drummer" quote is just Allan's sense of humor. As far as his equipment- he's never happy. Cheers! :)
Bruner was late both nights, very unprofessional, I think Allans quote was more than just jest at the time. Burners got skills, no doubt, but he has some growing up to do. Looking forward to tonite at the spud, Allan will be playing his stuff, with Bruner again, hope he shows a little more respect to his mates! Can't wait to hear AL's new release with Virgil! See you at the Spud! Cherrs
He's not sloppy at all...why would you judge youtube clips where most of the time youtube clips are "showcasing" a drummers ability to solo? Why don't you check out his work with Stanley Clarke,Chaka Khan,Kenny Garrett and other acts he has toured and recorded with.
To me this sounds like Allan's band (Chad + Jimmy) was lost at sea and he had to find a way to keep his commitment to the gig. This base is not playing the spirit of Allan's music. Sorry.
bro, why you being such a freakin jamoke?? you're seriously hating on bruner. maybe he's not your cup of tea, but to say he's a BAD DRUMMER?? goin a little far my man. is he losing the beat in any of this? can you or anyone you personally know play this well?
