Would love to see Danaher and Kit have a discussion. I think Kit is deceptively intelligent and wouldn’t be able to be talked down to the way Danaher likes to. He’d be the right mix of knowledge and sharp, quick wit to make Danaher drop the ego facade a bit.

He was the first I heard talking about it and that was 10 years ago. And he was right. The only time I spend drilling is to work out stuff I am trying to explore from the task based rounds. And it is only 5 to 10 minutes at most.

Kit has been preaching training without drilling using live resistance since before I even opened my gym. However, his product (Task Based Games) isn’t ecologically sound. He didn’t use ecological psychological to develop it. His product isn’t based on any psychological framework of any kind. And I’m not saying this to take away from his insight nor from his creativity. The games are his own ideas developed through his own experience.
Kit, I highly recommend you read the book “How we Learn to Move” by Rob Gray. It explains everything you’re trying to explain here in the task based games.
CLA is the way to go. As a reformed driller and recovering perfectionist I can absolutely vouch for this. After an 18 month period of gradual implementation, it’s the only way I teach now.
