Our class did this too - adult cello ensemble. Nobody in the adult group could do the lead so we had 2 - 12 year old kids do that for us. It was fun but the kids were amazing
This tempo is so crazy. I am so used to hearing all the marvelous melodious cello excerpts with resolutions and blends of rhythms. Marvelous playing with the rigor of technicality and muscular strength and clarity.
I’m playing the second cello part for this as a duet after having been one of the accompaniment ppl in an orchestra a few years ago (not one of the soloists) and loving it so much I had to learn the parts myself :D
Delightful! Clean, precise, spirited....though I'm not certain that playing on this small a scale could cut though the accompaniment of a string orchestra in a hall. In ogni caso, BRAVISSIME!
You Guys have the best rendition of this tune so far,and i’ve heard many(in the tens) You Guys feel each other perfectly, from both Cellist and the Pianist….very nice!!
I've just viewed (and heard!) once again your Vivaldi double concerto, and...guess what? I liked it even better than the first time! Which is, in this case, saying a lot. Bravissiime!!!
No, I would not recommend a coda bow. Carbon is not comparable to a wooden bow. The quality of a bow makes as much difference as the actual instrument.
Well, I would definitely try them out and buy what sounds best and lies within your financial range. Unfortunately many people are very biased towards wood, but when you make them a blind comparison, you can definitely say that you can compare carbon to wood. Of course there are good and bad carbon bows, as well as there are good and bad wooden bows, so definitely you have to try them before purchasing. I have a brown carbon bow (don't remember the manufacturer), that looks just like a wooden bow, so people don't notice when they try it out and most of the time they are quite happy with it and surprised when I tell them its carbon. It sounds a lot better than my older wooden bow, even though it costed just about 60% of the old one. Same goes for the instrument. The Appasionato Cello of Ricci (an advanced carbon manufacturer) is probably the best instrument I have ever gotten my hands on. :)
My one critique is you guys seemed to take the whole 0:57 too softly. That's one of my favourite parts because it's just such an intense line. However, really the whole performance was fantastic. Nice work
The other cellist is Heather Tuach, former cellist of the Fitzwilliam String Quartet and now cellist of the Greenwich Trio (she replaced Stjepan Hauser). She is also director of the 60minconcerts.com
@@TheCelloCorner Thank you for this post; I am enjoying this piece so much! I have listened to it dozens of time since first seeing it yesterday. I've printed up the music and I play along with all of you on the video.....at just half-speed right now :)
I 100% disagree. Both of them are amazing with their parts and even memorized the whole thing! You try to do that piece with a friend memorized and see how much better you could play!
