Saphir products universally smell wonderful, in my experience. I am not sure you were best served by the application of conditioner at the end. The conditioner offers a light shine, but the real magic is in its ability to soften and protect leather, which the wax was preventing to an extent since it lay in between the leather and the product. Conditioner, then colored wax, then Medaille d’Or mirror gloss would have been tops for those handsome shoes.
Aside from the usual NYC laces & saddle soap issues, he did a great job....beautiful shine! Are they shell cordovan?.....I have a pair of Florsheim's like that. Getting them sent out to Bedo's for sole replacement.
