FYI, one of my viewers pointed out something I missed: these shoes are only available in the standard D width right now!

That Siena cap toe is so much nicer than the park avenues in my opinion! I like the longer, sleeker look. I always thought the park ave looked bulbous and chunky that didn’t work too well with suits. Oddly enough I like the strands though!

I’m up in the air on the new AE line.. I like the narrower profile, but I’m not a big fan of McKay stitched shoes.. especially not at $395, lol! I’d have see them in person I guess? Great video! BTW, I love the tie and shirt combo you are wearing . Very nice Robert!

I have a couple of Blake stitche New York Vintage style boots. They look nice and are comfortable, but I would prefer good year welt over Blake.

Great video, I’ve been on the AE website lately since the Trunk Show is going on and didn’t even notice this new Blake stitch line! Robert I’m just thinking out loud here, but I think it would be great for your channel if you do a video like this for release every week in addition to your longer videos, I think this would help you get more channel traction and increase viewers even more! I like the deep dive long videos you’ve been releasing on a recurring schedule lately, but sometimes it takes me days before I have the time to watch them, but if you released something like this that’s just a 10-12 minute high-level topic or brief discussion of something I and probably others in the same boat as me can watch right away and give you that steady reliable viewership! Like maybe release the long video on Fridays like you are already and then a short video every Monday or Tuesday, or vice versa. And of course everyone is saying to get the algorithm working for you to start releasing shorts all the time, thanks to TikTok for that I guess. Anyway just throwing some thoughts out there, I’m just happy to get cobbler bob videos whenever I can! Cheers!

Got a Lucca Derby a little more than a year ago and which I've hardly worn. The last fits wider/looser than my Park Avenues, even though they're the same size and D width. They squeak, too, though I'm hoping that may change with more wear! They're definitely not as sleek as my European shoes (or even the Park Avenues, in my opinion), though I can see the Siena looks to be trying to compete. At $395 or higher full price, a Blake-stitched, chunkier shoe doesn't seem competitive.

I guess there's a market for it; I'm just not part of that market!

With the slip on they used to call it a "gore" when referring to the elastic that makes the slipping on and snug fit possible. Shoes like those are firmly cemented to my time in high school. Everybody wore them, including teachers. Little did I know that Allen Edmonds made slip ons just like the new ones in this video back in the 1960s. If you check their catalogues it seems they were not around before the early 60s, but I haven't read those catalogues in many months. Still, in my country nobody knows those slip ons were around in the 60s.

I know I’m late to the party but would I have to go up a half size from my ordinary Allen Edmond show if I want a Sienna Medallion shoe?

I have tried on the Siena and I feel that it is pretty decent for a first attempt. I just didn’t like the insole that they put in. AE has been importing Blake stitched or Bologna construction for years. These shoes do have appeal if you are looking for a more refined look. Think of them as occasional shoes for social events. Problem with importing these lines has always been strange fit characteristics. Those tassel loafers that you showed, the Lucca, has a terrible fit for the average American foot. I think once AE makes a few adjustments to the interior of the shoe, they will have a winner since they can control fit much better.

Interesting, but I see the Lucca and Siena are only available in D widths and I can’t find an actual last number to estimate size. Apparently go up half a size from usual AE size? For now it’s a pass for me which is unfortunate as I’d like to try a pair of blake-stitched shoes.

How do the new models fit compared to the 65 last? Have you tried any on?

Is it true that Allen Edmonds discontinued their Oxblood color?

Aka made cheaper. No welt to save the integrity of the leather from re sole, no cork for comfort and insulation fake cap toes. Same price... JOKE

Why are they doing this because the world is moving forward beside Allen Edmonds style is boring as hell same old story
