Beautiful! But, amazing that a once-great company with the reputation they used to have would allow something like welt that out the door. Thankfully, for The Jed Rides, you made them perfect!!
Bryce, in fairness to Allen Edmonds, I bought these as factory seconds at a reduced price. They are still making great shoes and boots. I agree, though, Aaron made them perfect!
Allen Edmonds used to make top notch shoes and boots, and I’ve read many tragic news about them not being as high quality as they used to back in the day, with cutting costs for subpar materials and the QC issues. I hope someday AE get back on their feet to bring their reputation to its former glory.
@@wonkydonkey7899 For what it is worth, I walk into their store in Los Angeles frequently, and I can tell you their shoes and boots are really, really nice. It seems popular among RU-vidrs to criticize them, I think because they are now owned by a VC firm, but I don't see any evidence of QC decline, and I have been wearing their shoes and boots for 15 years.
Steve at Bedo's Leather YT channel has said so many times that Allen Edmonds is his all-time favorite shoe. However, he has had so many pairs into his shop that are substandard to that which they used to be. I'm not a shoe expert, but I'm just glad there are people like Aaron who can really stay on top of their quality.
@@brycecrousore1985 I got a pair of classic redwing chelsea boots waiting for Aaron to do his magic. I don’t know why redwing would use their proprietary soles on some of their high end models. I stumbled upon the ridge of a nailhead and it put an indentation in one of the soles. They’re not rubber but form based soles.
Those look fantastic! Why did the customer want to get rid of the original soles? The welt was a mess but the soles looked OK. Did they just want something different? I think they made the right choice.
Magnificent, to watch these customization vids -coming from the sneaker world- almost makes me cry! a stock boot like this one can look amazing with the right combination of good midsole materials and an aftermarket sole! wow!! of course, not any cobbler could pull it off like you Aaron, damn that original stitching was sketchy haha, maybe too many beers at the edmond`s factory during working hours...good job!
Probably a factory 2nd.. with the welt oversanded like that.... you can catch f2s for really cheap when they have a clearance... I got some loden suede higgins mill for 135$

Excellent work as always. I have this exact model of boot. The Higgins Mill with lug sole in Burgundy. Same issue with welt sanding and some other stitching issues. That Extra-lite lug sole is a bit odd because its made of a super light EVA compound. I did some research before I bought it and that Extra-lite brand has a patent on their compound. It supposed to resist wear a lot better than other light weight soles. So far I like mine, plenty of traction and doesn't seem to be wearing out too fast. But If it get it resoled I might go with Dr. Sole to.

Tengo entendido que esa marca es cara y se les paso el control de calidad se les paso el lijado o pulido del cerco con la suela hicieron mal su trabajo y las dejaste mejor que nuevas muchas felicidades excelente video muy buen trabajo profesional saludos.
