I have allergy to nail products because I did my own nails for a long time and would get it all over my skin all the time, so my skin gave up... it’s called over exposure reaction. Because I over exposed my skin to gel product it caused reaction 4.5 years later. I learned to get products from quality controlled places not cheap product from countries who have no quality control and to never let the product touch my skin at all, always leave small margin, use gloves on both hands and the one I’m working on I cut the tips off so I can work on the nails one hand at a time. since then no allergic reactions.

My reactions aren’t getting better I don’t know what products to use at this point ,cause right now I’m fighting off a flare up and I was applying the gel on someone else …I even had gloves on! It’s so frustrating

@@angelinaroybal7603 Young nails gel the gel pots. Absolutely love them hate the protein bonder it has hema in it. So I did a test. Trying out their product but I forgot to put the protein Bond on a few of my nails. I couldn't tell if the nail that I did do had the protein Bond or not I did have a reaction. So I just did one nail it's on my finger right now with the protein pond. One nail without. Bingo I got to get my pinky nail off immediately like I need to do it today it's really driving me crazy. Yep so the gel product has no Hema in it and I'm just going to do it without the protein bond. Easy peasy they stayed on fine. Absolutely fine. I actually took the set off like 5 days ago. My nails are healing. The ones that I did have protein bone on two of them they got a little process to go through. But I couldn't wait I had to try and it's definitely the protein bond. But the Young nails gel builders set thingy. Listen buy yourself the gel brush. I would get a few different gel brushes but I really like their professional gel brush. 90% alcohol you don't need their slip I don't like their slip. I really like finishing the nails off with the 240 boards that they offer. I would definitely get some of those. I like base, and then pick your color of the peach or pink. Just use that. The nails look better with using all of the color gel. Trust me. I tried different ones with the different stuff. I really like the base. Don't use tips do not glue them on oh my gosh the glue is going to bother you. I did some with tips and I did some with stickers and just building it on to my nail. Oh my gosh building my own nails so much easier. So much better. I love the extra long stickers. I'm That kind of girl. If you're not used to doing this but this was my first time doing nails. Gel is very clean very easy. I do have a kira sky nail drill it's phenomenal it makes ease of cleaning them up but if you're doing it molding it yourself they're going to come out fine. Just make sure you have your outer edges lined up and cut your form to fit your nail. It's going to look phenomenal. Just use the base and then use the color gel pink I think they call it concealer peach and pink. I also have it in the tube or in the jar and neither of those messed with me they were both good. Oh my gosh don't touch the protein Bond run away from it. It's going to hurt you so bad my poor finger I'm going to have to take off this nail and it's going to have to heal before I can put a nail on it. Yay me. At least I know now. Builder gel, the colored gel whether it's in the tube or in the pot I like both. Be careful filing these because wow is filing gel among acrylic much different. I'm one of those people that's very particular on my shape. I'll come home and file my nails if I don't like them and put a new clear on them. And I don't like griping so much like hey could you fix it like this. Just do my nails so I can just fix them. But since I have to do them myself now. I tried so hard to get the girl to do the gel nails and she wouldn't and I kept reacting and I bought the stuff and I was like well hell I'll do it myself. It's so easy I wasted so much money going to a nail tech.

I found a way to do press ons without having a reaction, FINALLY, YAY! After 10 years of getting acrylics, I became allergic (I found out in 2017). My allergy has progressively got bad. I cannot get acrylics of any kind, gel polish, press on nails, and most recently found out that I can't get lash extensions- and I found out the hard way by ending up in the ER. I also cannot even be in the same salon where people are getting acrylics or using gel polish because I developed an allergy to the particles (and I went in with a mask during COVID). I was SO hopeless until recently. I actually found and tested some products to which I had NO reaction to and found a way to do press on's and make them last (2-3 weeks!). And it involves using nail guards- . I recommend these for anyone who is also not allergic and just gets their nails done regularly. This method also ensures that no product is touching your skin (please be careful to keep the product on the nail and do not get it on the skin). Things needed: - Nail File - Acetone/nail dehydrator - Cotton Balls/Cotton Pads - Orly Bonder (Rubberized Coat) or any bonder of your choice (some bonders have acrylates in them so check ingredients to ensure they don't. Orly does not contain any acrylates) - Dashing Diva Nail Guard Kit (optional- bought at Sally's or Online on their website) *do NOT use the prep pad with the set, as it contains acrylates. - Nail adhesive tabs (I like the Kiss Tab To Go Super Adhesive Tabs) - Nail Glue of your choice (I like Kiss brand but I also saw that Dashing Diva also has the Fast Bond nail glue that I heard was good too) - Press on nails of your choice. Steps: 1) Slightly buff nails with nail file. Also, slighty buff the inside of the press on nails too (the area that matches up to where it will go on over the nail) 2) Dehydrate nails with acetone and cotton pad/cotton ball. Do the same with the press on nails where it will go over your natural nail. 3) Use 1 coat of Orly Bonder over each of your nails. 4) Apply a strip of Dashing Diva Nail Guards to your nail. One side will stick to your nail, the other side will NOT be sticky. File down as needed to fit your nail. 5) This is where the adhesive tabs come in- apply the adhesive tab to your nail. I try to focus it on the middle, as they usually do not cover the entire nail for me. *It is optional but you can apply one tiny micro drop of nail glue and then the adhesive tab over it just to secure the tab to the nail. Ensure that if you use the nail glue, it goes in the middle of your nail and is a TINY drop (I mean like micro) so that it does not come in contact with your skin or cuticles, especially once you put the tab on and press the nail on. However, I would recommend patch testing with this method. 6) On top of the Adhesive tab, apply a tiny dot (not even a full drop) of nail glue in the middle of the adhesive tab/nail, ensuring that it does not touch your skin, the cuticle, or would spill over your nail onto your skin. I like to let the drop sit for a second and slightly get tacky. 7) Apply the nail on top of the adhesive tab with the tiny drop of glue. Press and hold the nail for about 30 seconds. I tend to do my press on nails at night, after I clean and shower to ensure that they have plenty of time to set over night without getting wet, having to wash your hands and etc. They last WAY longer that way. Also, if you don't want to do all of the steps above, you can just do the bonder, adhesive tab, and drop of nail glue on the tab and then the press on nail. That method worked good and the nail lasted me over 2 weeks as well, I wash dishes everyday and of course, shower, and bathe my kids. The nail didn't come loose at all. The dashing diva strips really protect the nail though. I hope this helps those of you who are in desperate need to be girly again and be able to get your nails done! Also, I hope this helps a nail tech who has a client that comes across the same issues I did. I am considering making a video covering this and going over all of the steps.

I am allergic to everything that contains acrylates too, gel, dip powder (cyanoacrylates) . So also nail glue. But I will try your method because I realized that if I use just a tiny tiny bit of glue usually I don’t react. Thanks for the tip! Never used nail guard though, do you think it helps the longevity too?

I am alergic to gel products but I still use it by been extremely careful. I do things by step and use gloves and anything I can to protect myself from been in contact to the gel. So far so good, only downside is that it takes me so much time to do them, that I take 2 days doing them, but I got my beautiful nails nevertheless and I just take it easy.

I’m allergic to the liquid that’s sometimes used for acrylic nails. When the nail tech uses the MMA liquid (the one used for dental procedures) the fingers get puffy, red, irritated, itch and hurt so badly it’s unbearable. This lasts for a week and then my fingers peel. When the nail tech uses the EMA liquid I don’t seem to have an issue. I guess here in Southern California people don’t really have any problems with it. I ask what liquid is used and tell them why before I get my nails done at a new place.

FYI, as a person highly allergic to many things (foods, animals, seasonal, dust, acrylates, etc), if you're allergic to something, it doesn't matter where you apply or how you come into contact w/it, you will always have a reaction. PS: An allergic reaction is an immune system response; common sense is to avoid the allergen all together or suffer the consequences. Also, please get allergy tested, b/c going into anaphylactic shock is scary & can be deadly as I've witnessed & experienced it myself.
