This made a lot of sense! Thank you so much for this video! I'm taking an immuno course and these basic functions i really need to know for the allergenic portion,
@boolykbol Yep! That's where all our histamine comes from. When they stuff that makes the allergic reaction come in contact with them, they either explode and let all of it out, or let out a lot of what they contain.
Impressive how all of this happens because of a mistake in the DNA that is passed by generations, making the cells attack something harmless and have bad consequences to eliminate a single particle of air, isn't the human body great?
@jesuistahmid No its an over simplification.T Cells have more roles than just activating B Cells, they secrete a huge amount of cytokines which can in turn activate other T cells and B cells themselves as well. Also T Cells can become activated independent of B Cells. Though the classical model through cell-cell contact is liked it isn't actually what happens most of the time. Immunology moves so fast our understanding changes weekly, such an amazing field to be able to work in!
I took shots and medications for years, and nothing helped get rid of it. Then I did some liver herbs and some body/mind work with acupuncture points (through my health practitioner) and my allergies are gone.Amazing...
Omg okay I know this was commented 11 years ago and you might not have youtube anymore, but it’s worth a shot. i have had absolutely terrible allergies since i was a kid and i’m now 15, and i’ve literally stayed home from school countless times, including today, due to extreme fatigue since i keep having sneeze attacks within like ten minutes apart, it’s so exhausting. of course there’s the constant runny and stuffy nose, itchy and puffy eyes and face, etc. anyways, i’ve been getting shots for four years now, since 6th grade (and now im a sophmore) and here i am still suffering. pills don’t work for me, nose sprays sometimes do and sometimes don’t, i feel so so hopeless. so, can you elaborate on what u did to finally help? i am willing to try anything at this point because i am miserable and hopeless.
Help me I have been allergy in every morning for long time. Long time. There's some liquid (that I don't know how to say it) out in the early morning around 3:00am every days.
is it dangerous to consume foods you might have alergy to... if its only causing skin redness .. it does not itch or bother me...can i continue eating the food ? i am not even sure i have alergy to the food doctor could just tell me i have alergy to cat and dogs and a tree... but there could be cross alergy.. is it dangerous to continue if i just get red on some places and not actually bothered ?
@jesuistahmid normally yes but B cell activation can also occur independent of CD4T Cells via Toll Like Receptors or if the antigen has enough repeating subunits in its structure that it can cross link enough BCRs to fully activate the B Cell without any help.
u know i hve allergy of every pet dander you can think of, i´m allergic to cats,Horses, dogs, hamsters, bunnys, guinea pigs, there are so many of e'm i can´t count.
@curexcomplex ah ic.. yea you're right.. i was just thinking in the context of b-cell activation by t-cells.. i thought t-cells must make direct contact with b-cells when activating them (which ofcourse includes co-activation and cytokines as well right?)
DO allergy shots really work? Cause i have allergies and it gets worse during the Spring. Right now i have such intense red eyes and I'm constantly sneezing. Do these shots really work?
Unfortunately you can not eliminate the allergy. You can suppress it and avoid the allergens. The good thing is that some allergies goes away with time, like allergy to penicillin.
