*Disclaimer:* People with Schizophrenia do not actually act like this, they're just normal people with a chemical imbalance which leaves them hearing voices and believing that they are things they are not. Taking meds help a lot, so like I said, they're normal people. But this is a musical so sometimes it's okay to exaggerate. I'm schizophrenic and I just enjoy the song. Please dont send hate to her.
I don't think she's supposed to be clinically schizophrenic. The character is 16 and obsessed with a boy. Nothing unusual there. 16 year olds exaggerate, after all. When I was a teenager, I told people I had multiple personalities. I knew I didn't, but I thought it made me seem more interesting and excused my socially awkward behavior. I think that's what she's doing here.
@@AndrewMacLaine she says “clinically certified”, calls herself “schizo” and talks to an invisible person, it’s very cartoonish and unrealistic but she’s definitely supposed to be schizophrenic. Also 16 year olds who have a crush don’t normally carve his name into their arms lol
Aki Snowflakes on tiktok. The lyrics “It’s hard to be 16 and schizo” are offending people. People made the case saying it’s a song for a character in a musical. But the snowflakes are just so close minded. Starting to call Broadway “ableist”.
As somebody with borderline personality disorder. I relate to this heavily. But we’re not all like this. Everybody’s different. BPD isn’t schizophrenia, but I know schizophrenic people aren’t like this. For bpd- a lot of us just have trouble regulating our emotions, and controlling trauma responses to everyday life. But this is gold. Really. As someone who’s become this hysterical in a relationship due to mistreatment and neglect. I love this song.
My daughter performed this song, and while I understand the seriousness behind the lyrics. What an amazing song for someone like my daughter who can pull it off. I truly do understand, diagnosed with Major Depressive disorder, PTSD, and anxiety. It's all very real.
I love everything about this. The tune, the hysterical lyrics, and the hilarious performance. Only thing I would change would be to have her make a sexual motion on the last phrase, seeing as how she is obsessed with Cry Baby.
@@jubilee16777 it would have added to the act because in the beginning of the song she said “I’d like to dedicate this song, and my body to Wade crybaby walker!”
@@marissasworld6328 it’s still weird to say “i would have her make a sexual motion.” it makes it seem like they just want to see her do that, which is creepy.
@@jubilee16777 I do think they've phrased that weirdly but in context since she's singing 'a loose screw' which is itself a double entendre it might enhance it to have her do something suggestive. Maybe not overtly sexual just something to emphasise the double entendre there.
I love how a few years ago I was ADDICTED to this musical and ow I come back , the video has thousands of view and everyone's offended by the lyrics lmal
LYRICS bc i know we tryna sing along even tho i cant Screw loose That's what they say I've got Or maybe they say I'm not Playing with a full deck But hey! What the heck! Can I do-oo-oo? They're zoomers most of those who have brigaded to Alli mauzey from tiktok don't even know who John waters is. I'm just hoping some of these young people will actually start looking into art of musicals and finding out what live theatre is all about. These things were often safe havens for gays just even a decade ago, I'm sure there's some good to come out of kids discovering old bootlegs
Playing weird loud and lousy characters like her is just the funniest thing there is to do. Fuck deep and complex characters I want to scream some weird shit and wear even weirder clothes for 2 hours

does anyone in these comments know any musicals other than heathers, book of mormon, and beetlejuice. heathers and beetlejuice are literally some of the least underground musicals that exist, people very obviously know what these shows are lmaooooo. they both have incredibly well known movies and and have some of the most popular songs in musical theatre, especially heathers. yallre like the guys who say "you wouldnt last a minute in a cod lobby" but if instead of cod lobby they were saying "childrens playground" or something. like heathers and beetlejuice arent offensive shows, yall are aware of that. why is everyone so focused on getting angry at hypothetical situations that they make up in their heads
Yeah everyone here is like “everyone’s so triggered they wouldn’t last one minute in (insert popular musical)”, meanwhile the people who are complaining are all like “I love this song but this thing kinda ticked me off”. Like they’re so mad over the tiniest thing it’s unreal

Y’all need to remember that yea the character has Schizophrenia but there are clearly other things going on with her that is making her do these “crazy” things Yea it’s a bad representation of actual Schizophrenia but this character isn’t just schizophrenic and has a few other things And is an extreme example of a 16 year old girl obsessed with a boy as a parody
I really like this song! I can see why some people would find it offensive though lol the only thing that irked me (personally) was the carving in the arms, I know it's fake but it was quite triggering ;; might sing it for an audition tho very fun to throw your voice around and act wacky
I personally love the character! The only thing that really “offends” me is the way everyone laughs at every time she showed a symptom of her illness, since I’ve had it and been laughed at it the same way the character is. I’ve had it and it’s not fun. But I absolutely love the song.
This is a brilliant song with some parts that did not age well, the self-harm portion is especially not okay but this is in no way a bad song, it's hilarious and incredibly catchy and a killer song to sing. I think there should be edits to the song because "carving your name in my arm" is not exactly something that should be sung about.
my grandma has schizophrenia and talks to 3 elsa dolls, two of them hard arms that fell out and idk ig she just sticks metal in them to reattach the arms, this is a very pointless comment i just felt like saying it :P
I agree, it’s a great song just the message it puts out isn’t great. I’d love it even more if it was used for a different meaning than to kind of “mock” schizophrenia
cino a. it’s unnecessary to say “educate yourself”. it’s true not everyone is into theatre, so to say “educate yourself” is lowkey gatekeeping the admiration for the arts. basically saying you can’t like this if you’re only here from tiktok. not everyone is here because they like musicals.
andrea joy i think he was literally just trying to say educate yourself about the song?? idk, but do you HONESTLY think and art can be gate-kept....like really.
cino a. that’s what i meant lmao. the song is extremely offensive and the fact that people love it because it became a trend on tiktok makes me so mad.
andrea joy that was not what i was trying to say. It’s totally fine to find out about a musical or a song through tiktok. what is not okay is that people started singing this song and it because a trend but this song is extremely offensive if u listen to the words and it shouldn’t be sung by everyone on tiktok!
also yeah having mental health issues and knowing ppl with diagnosed schizophrenia it sucks to see things like this, and as much I stim to the song, every time the self harm part pulls up i kinda retract. but also can I get the part please?
