This story could do with additional chapters. It's interesting how the vuvkut condemn those, except humans, as abominations and unfit to exist according to their rules of the universe. What makes them think they aren't abominations to others and don't deserve to exist? The humans have accepted life as life, despite its form.

The cow at the abattoir thinks, "I'm glad humans value all life." Now I personally am an omnivore also, but this claim is a bit suspect. It would be accurate if it specified all sapient life.
Ahhh, xenophobia. Pre-arrange a set of rules to determin what is and isn't life, then declare everything outside those rules, no matter how nice and cultured they are, as "abominations" to be exterminated had the laws not disallowed that. The only surprising thing is that it isn't the humans this time having such a stance.
