Yea but once the gator has what he wants, its all over in seconds💀 🤣🤣 Once you go under water, the gators right there starring in your face 🥶 priceless 👌
Just think about how many animals have died in that terrifying way animals including humans and all throughout the time that these kind of creatures have been around truly an awesome predator
Right when you begin to think this is the most beautiful and peaceful experience of your life, nature has a way of reminding you how things really are.
LOL different strokes for different people I guess because swamps are terrifying to me. I would never want to be that low to the water in a single kayak
I love that you took a minute to collect yourself and then were just like "yep, don't wanna be here anymore" and paddle as fast as possible in the direction you came
The only thing about the spray deck is if he had fully capsized and wasn’t able to self rescue himself the neoprene spray decks take quite a lot of effort to get off which would cause him to be underwater a lot longer
yeah, imagine get attacked and almost drowned up side down if was not for the tree nearby for him to grab and recover ...There is a fucking alligator swimming around his kayak and may attack again
@@BobbyP598 How do you think this video got online? If crocodiles didn't have a phone and didn't know how to use technology, then we wouldn't see the video uploaded by the crocodile here. You had a good attempt to hide the truth from people, but it won’t work! Most likely, you are also a crocodile and are protecting your own, writing on behalf of a person.
@@Dingbobber The implication of my comment was that comparisons start with reality and that when we live too much in the fantasyland of computer games and special effects, it ends up seeming more real than reality. But why bother making the comment longer than necessary?
I live in Wilmington, NC not too far from where this happened. There are some big alligators around here. Looks like this guy was kayaking alone. No way in hell I'd kayak alone in the back swamps and rivers around here. This fella was very lucky.
Damn and I just arrived on the OBX and was thinking this would be cool but have an oru one even slight bite from a gator I lose buoyancy. Never had a problem in Florida but maybe gators there are less aggressive due to more people I dunno but I definitely kayak alone now this got me worried that gator is faster than I could paddle for sure plus I have a 16 foot kayak
In a moment like that, a person would likely be too focused on assessing and getting out of the immediate danger situation... this is not the same as stubbing a toe.
look how fast that fucker is going after the attack lol.. love to see peak human performance when that adrenaline kicks in! Thing had a motor on it haha
Holy shit. That tremble in his hands and the heavy breathing attest to how much adrenaline was pumping through his system after the near death experience. My own heart was pounding, so I can’t imagine how it was for him
Just imagine the exact moment he fell into water and felt the coldness all over his body, not knowing if the alligator would drag him farther down or not.....
Once the alligator attacked you can just hear the man going into fight or flight mode from his heavy breathing to when he starts paddling back like an Olympic Kayaker
@@mistertwisterbee you'd be surprised some people freeze in panic. But yea I don't blame him at all. It's just kind of funny, only cuz he was okay after lol
Not really because gators are non Violent most of the time if the gator was going to attack he would have the kayaker provoked the gator in a way that he did not know
@@drewski3173 I live near where this happened, its just a tributary off a much larger lake that people swim and boat in all the time and they are not attacked by killer alligators lol. You are correct that it is rare, the only reason she did this is because it was mating season and she was protecting her nest.
My heart instantly started thumping when you flipped over....I thought it was the end for you....handled it like a boss, caught your breath and got the hell outta dodge....props to you💪🤘
That alligator will tell all his buddies how he narrowly escaped with his life from a half human half kayak that came out of nowhere charged at him full speed.
I was gonna complain that I couldn’t see the alligator until it showed up, but then I remembered that that’s their thing. I’m surprised by how fast he/she moved. We’ve likely all seen them bursting out of the water during ambush hunting, but seeing it speed through the water was delightful. Obviously, it wasn’t for you. You handled that really well. I can’t imagine what you must have been going through. Very glad you’re okay.
@@SoTiredButWired could be uploaded by the rescue team who where on a search and rescue mission for a week old kayak enthusiasts gone missing. They could only find half a skull being strapped on a helmet with a gopro
I genuinely thought that the Gator was gonna follow up as soon as he fell in. Their behavior is to usually do so after an attack, thank goodness he’s alive.
The man is likely near an alligators nest and the mother was just giving warning to the kayak dude. Also alligator mothers dont hunt near their nest as the smell can attract other bigger alligators to her nest and eat her babies
@@erensfeet5563 it isn't about hunting. Any defensive attacks by that alligator COULD kill that guy. She wouldn't LIKE to, but, at the end of the day, it's defending it's nest and WILL to the DEATH. The ONLY reason this guy is alive is because he got caught on those branches and didn't stay under. He was about to be turned into gator poop had those branches not been there.
@@somedude5465 the alligator didn’t want to kill him tho. If it did it would’ve sticker around. No, just like the dude said, she gave him a warning. Also the branches kinda did nothing
All I was expecting to see wasa video of a gator hauling off a bank. After he righted himself, obviously in shock, I though, "I see your left hand, where's th right?!
@@p.7489 Big difference though. I don't think there are any known kayak deaths to gators and there are probably thousands of boaters and kayakers taken by crocs.
After reading this i rewatched it about 34 times and you might actually see an alligator head perhaps not the same one either sense it’s facing him underwater
This looks like Florida for how swampy it is, I like this terrain tho, I grew up in Florida and I’ve been kayaking in water like this, probably a mother gator because most gators are chill to the point you can swim with them
Welcome to the club of kayaking in bayou’s and swamps. Similar things have happened a couple of times to me over the years. I always rethink life for a few minutes thereafter. Strong work!
Gators aren’t generally going to do this unless threatened. Appeared it felt threatened and was protecting its nest. They are only aggressive to humans when they are close to their nest, mating season, or splashing around in shallow water at night or early morning. I swam right next to a gator and it never bothered me (obviously didn’t do this on purpose). My dad was in a lake staring at one 4 feet away while waiting for a pickup boat. They are common in lakes where we had ski tournaments. Gators are widely misunderstood by those who aren’t familiar with their behavior or don’t live where they are common. This gator was sending a warning to this person to stay away from their nest; not looking for lunch. Crocs are a whole different story. They are nothing like gators. They kill for the thrill.
it wasn’t the branches that saved him lol. if she wanted him dead he would be dead before him or his camera saw it. alligators much smaller are known to be able to tear through the bottom of kayaks, killing people. She most likely didn’t kill him but decided to scare him off instead because he was getting too close to her nest. Alligators don’t hunt close to the nest, the blood will attract others, usually much larger and much more dangerous gators.
@@howaboutno4002 it's like velociraptors in jurassic park, that they form teams and while one of them stays visible so you focus your attention on it, others are hiding and attack you from behind or from the sides
Ft Lauderdale, New River by the power plant marsh. Had a huge one surface underneath me , lifting me out of the water, spun me around 180 degrees. It was a flat bottom inflatable Seveylor kayak. The tail was as long a the kayak. I quickly paddled to the houses and seawall across the river and got out of he river. I understand that some predators will bump you first to see if you are edible.
Doesn’t look like a site seeing type of place I would be in. It definitely looks like a place alligators and dead people would be hanging out in though.

So I decided I'd give them a little lesson. Seems like it worked, as I haven't seen him since. If you wanna try this out yourself, make sure you hit them at the exact angle like you can see in the video. Also works with twin kayaks but you need to be fast and strong. Don't be too slow or they will have enough time to react and you get paddled. (Yes, I'm speaking from experience, haha). If there's enough interest, I might make a tutorial.
