What a great tractor. I rented 200 acers from an old farmer in 1978 that had a 200 with the factory cab & A/C. I was 18, and worked for a big farmer who had nice equipment. He had a 4020,4230,4430, and a 2670 Case. In 1980 I begged the old guy to let me pull it at the fair. Needless to say he didn't like the idea. He asked what I would do if I blew it up? I said I will put a new engine in It guess. So we shook hands and I went to the pull. I put it in the 10,000 lbs. class. There was about a dozen in that class. There where several IH 1066, JD 4020's 1 which was hauled in from out of state with a M&W blower and you could tell it was turned up. 1 old 930 Case. All the farmer's said I didn't have a chance against the competition! Let me just say the look on that old farmer & his wife's face that night in the stands was priceless!! All that for a 1st place trophy and a 100 dollar bill. True story in Lee county ILL. I won by 2 ft. 4ins. There are only 2 kind of people in life. The ones that think they can & the ones that think they can't. Unfortunately they are both right. My grandpa taught me that. He also said nothing is impossible, it just takes a little more determination. I'm 61 now and I know he was right!

@@RJ1999x We had a 200 as well and it was the farms beaten dog. We pulled heavy no til Haybuster drill, huge heavy thing that held tons of grain and fertilizer. We ran a snow blower in the winter at -20 sometimes, usually a bit warmer. It got beat, but iylt never let us down. I remember spraying half a can of ether into it's intake to start in the winter, it just said ok and fired up. Now I know that's not a great solution for starting every cold day. My father sold them from 59-85. We ran mostly D-17's. Started out with a WC before I was born, then a WD. The D-17's came later. We eventually ended up with my grandfather's 180 that was rebuilt to 185 specs. My neighbor still uses it. Pop eventually got a nice 8050 to brush hog with that I sold several years ago to a local farmer. They sold it to a dealer down east that is restoring it. Pop knew the dealer and that helped sell the tractor. I plan on going down there to see it eventually. Great videos as always. I'll die an Allis man just like Pop.

We have a diesel 180 that we use to pull a 12 row corn planter. It harvest time it is also used to pull 4 200 bushel grain wagons (2 @ a time) to the bins. We also have a 220 (non-front wheel assist) tractor that we use to pull a 15' Great Plains drill to drill beans. We also have a D-17 narrow front end diesel, a WD, & a 175 diesel that mainly get used as 'chore' tractors. We also have a D15 with an Allis Chalmers loader bucket, a 190, & a D-21 with rice tires. The 190 does baling & mowing of waterways on our farm & the D-21 used to do a lot of tillage & pulled the grain drill for many years. Since we have gotten rid of our cattle & gone to no-till, the tractors don't get as much of a workout as they used to.

I got lots of time on WD45's, D-17's of several series and others. I now own a 1957 D-14 and an HD-4 dozer. They are great tractors. Our older son and his father-in-law run three Allis on their beef operation: 190, 7000 and 8030. Keeps my son busy fixing these older machines but he loves them and they keep on performing for them. @@jasonleininger2519 Lots of updates in the factory. The 200 had larger bull gears and bull pinions than the late 190XT. The late 190XT had 4 pinion differential which the early 190XT did not. The engine on the 200 was improved and actually put out closer to 110 hp vs 93 from the XT and it had a better cooling system with a larger fan. There were other changes internally here and there too vs the XT. Better 3 point hitch geometry for more lift and the later 200 had a change in making the power director easier to shift and better brakes. There were lots of changes and then the 7000 replaced it which had more changes but was basically the same tractor with a 3 speed power shift replacing the 2 speed power director and the new style sheet metal and cab. The 7000 again had even larger bull pinions and gears. I could go on and on with the changes made from model to model and running changes during production of each model from that family of tractors 190 through the 7000.

@@jasonleininger2519 No updates in the field, the 200 had a different engine with a crank driven oil pump, a different front bolster, different geometry on the 3pt to lift more, and a different angle on the bull gear drives

Good old machine that you could fix on your own. Just few wrenches and way you go. Beautifull and timeless design! I am also suprised that it can pull disk that big since it is 2WD.

I had an old allis c with a 5' belly mounted sickle I cut alfalfa with as a kid...took all afternoon to mow 4 acres! We lost it in a barn fire...would love to do it like that again...

Thank you for sharing. Sorry to hear about the fire. I saw a WD45 mowing with a sickle this spring.

I miss those days...could mow all day on 10 gallon of fuel, then hook up the rake and lead the baler on three...lol. would love to see a video of the old case-o-matic in the background of this video working as well...looked like maybe a 730?

We had a 190xt back in the day and we would of bought a 4020 but our John Deere dealer did have one and he had this tractor on his lot. We use it for just about everything it was our big tractor till we bought an 8430 John Deere.

200 & 190xt needed 18.4x38 radials to hold that engine to the ground . plenty heavy , but the back up tork was strong .

Had one growing up, had a disc for it too. This disc would be way too much if he was actually discing a field with a crop just off, he's just barely scraping the soil. Looks like a hobby farmers with a love for the great Allis tractors, just out driving tractor.
@bigtractorpower
@bigtractorpower 2 года назад
This is not a hobby farm. They were seeding a cover crop over ground that was sub soiled 18 inches deep. They are using the disk to cut up the sub soil ridges ahead of the drill. This farm has Steiger Wildcat III, IH 5288, IH 1086, AC 200 and Case 800. Each of these tractors are featured here on Big Tractor Power.
