I’ve found on the 301s if you push the fuel shut off in about halfway while cranking, then pull it out once they start to smoke they fire easier, may work on the 426 to too.
Just a couple shots of ether into that air intake. Or a can if it's -20. We used to run out old Allis 200 in well below 0, block heater, but still a beast to start and even though it had a cozy can it only protected u from wind and snow from the snowblower. If ether damagers diesel engines it didn't show i our 200. Worked it hard year round. Summer it was a seeder, year round pasture work and winter snow blowing and using a pick fork for cutting wood.
They travel about 20 mph down the road. Not bad for the early 70's. The 7060 traveled about 2 mph faster than a Deere 4630, an Ih 1566 and a White 2-150. All these tractors are about the same hp and were produced about the same time.
