Chen's game is built on accuracy, consistency, and precision due to which she rarely needs to play powerful or fanciful shots. Her game is based on focus, concentration, finesse, and restraint - just the right amount of spin/speed for each shot. It's a thing of beauty to watch if one understands that this is not a power sport but a precision sport. Her humility is impressive, as is her demeanor during the entire match and respect for her opponent.

" It's torture for the players but pure entertainment gold for us" which is exactly why the shootout is soooo lame. Personally I play pool because I absolutely love it and I'm striving to reach perfection NOT for the entertainment of others, and besides are the matches not entertaining enough already? Really how greedy do people need to be for their entertainment?

@@shardanette1 Maybe if I type slower it will help you. I 100% know how the 2 race to 4 sets with a shootout works, if necessary. Had they been playing the traditional format Fisher would have been up 6-4. Instead she lost 4-2 and won 4-0 then lost the shootout by missing 1 more shot than Chen. If you couldn't follow that, go ask mom, she'll explain it to you.

Agreed! The shootout is a terrible decider! They should play a deciding set, race to 4 by margin of 2 or similar that is STILL 10 ball. A shootout is no measure of a player's 10 ball skill. In fact, there are literally 1000's of home table players that could sink the shootout shots all day long but never come close to beating even a mediocre pro in a 10 ball match. Imagine a pro tennis match third (or fifth) decider being a serve contest. It is just nonsense. Damn promoters and their need to do something "different". Yeah let's grow the sport by making it more like a carnival. Step right up and knock down the balls and when a prize! Way to go predator - somebody there really doesn't understand the game at all.

Fun fact that most of these pool players don’t understand. If you break and don’t make a ball often, less than 50%, then you should not try and win the lag. If you watch 10 ball, they seldom make a ball off the break, so the advantage goes to the player who doesn’t break. But still they try and win the lag, lol.

Let me get this straight. This is a 10-ball tournament. Allison beat Chia Hua 6 games to 4 and yet Chia Hua wins the match? Congrats to Chia Hua but these shoot out have got to stop. Shoot outs are NOT 10-ball.
@ramensospicy2992
