Fantastic live version of that classic tune! Got to see the AB band three times in concert. The first time was way back in 1977. Hands down one of my favorite bands of all time! If you want to read a great book, pick up "Brothers and Sisters" by Alan Paul. RIP Greg & Duane... Thanks for the music!
Glad you're digging it Share it! Young people need to know what my generation had. I'm 61. Have seen a lot of greats and lived through the greatest music. Keep rockin forever. 🎵♥️🎶
You obviously never heard about Dickie being kicked out of the band for getting in a fistfight with Warren and Tobler when they began their group, Govt Mule.
@@jongoldey3842 I think he's in his late 70s and had a bad fall and brain surgery a couple of years ago but I miss him too. I was 16 and in either late 69 or early 70 discovered their first album. Their music has literally been with me almost every day since then.
@@tylerpatterson4787 I've seen them they are good. At times Duane Betts seems to be holding back a little but its its not fair to compare him with his Father. Very few could exceed or equal Dicky's guitar playing.
🖤🥀Excellent Song amazing lyrics, vocals and music! I've always loved this song and all of their song's I'm a female from Atlanta Ga so I grew up listening to Alman Brothers these Guy's are amazing🥀🖤✌🥀
I was born in Atlanta half a block off Peachtree street in the old Crawford W Long hospital. Grew up in Polk County though. I believe all of us Georgians have an affinity for The Allman Brothers Band. Sure do miss em , someone mentioned Dicky Betts health. His management team has a site that he's been known to monitor.
Same here I grew up in Griffin Georgia about 50 miles from Macon have been listening to the Allman Brothers since the early 70s but I do think Greg's voice has gotten better as he got older rest in peace
I'm 63 , I gradueted in 1978. From Hihg School, I grew up isting to the All Man Brothers , R.P.All 4 of them, they left us such of greate Music, what greate legends, their Music lives on !!!
there is so many artist/band like this now, its just so difficult finding does artist because the internett is so big. Trust me if you look you will find gems!
@@SKILER415I love EDM and I’m old. I’ve been front row at Led Zeppelin in 1977 and front row at Seven Lions last month. Both are amazing and very different.
Gotta say, i've little time for 90 % of Sepo guitarists, and bands, personally rate the Brits way ahead, but The Allmans are one of the few exceptions. Duane and Dickey were phenomenal, and Warren, although different, really gelled with Dickey and is awesome in his own right! To me Dickey is the most melodic guitarist i have ever heard, and plays with a passion unusual in Septic Tanks.
You will not hear this type of mastery again. The artist back then put their soul into every vocal and note, and could perform at the drop of a hat. These new people are computer assisted, no talent, and have no love for the music, just dollers.
There's something different in today's music I think the artist today just don't have the heart ❤️ like The bands of the 60s and 70s or I could just be getting old LoL.
Dicky and Warren cooked on acoustics together. Woody was nobody's replacement he was a burn the house down bass player. Gregg was in a great voice here in fact so was Betts and Warren. Last time I saw em as the ABB Dicky volume was so loud I had to move luckily another couple were glad to swap. I didn't tell em a tall tale about why I couldn't sit there. I love Betts playing but it was kinda like Spinal Tap but his amp had a 12 instead of 11. No other band could touch them in my humble opinion. Jaimoe isn't the kind to hold a grudge so it'd be good for the soul for them to do something together while they can.
What I wouldn’t give to be in this crowd, on my 7th beer, so high I’d forget I’m sunburnt, yelling out “midnight rider, come runnin” to my wife Brenda who I’ve just sent for a hot dog.
Well, I've got to run to keep from hidin' And I'm bound to keep on ridin' And I've got one more silver dollar But I'm not gonna let 'em catch me, no Not gonna let 'em catch the midnight rider And I don't own the clothes I'm wearing And the road goes on forever And I've got one more silver dollar But I'm not gonna let 'em catch me, no Not gonna let 'em catch the midnight rider And I've gone by the point of caring Some old bed I'll soon be sharing And I've got one more silver dollar But I'm not gonna let 'em catch me, no Not gonna let 'em catch the midnight rider No, I'm not gonna let 'em catch me, no Not gonna let 'em catch the midnight rider No, I'm not gonna let 'em catch me, no I'm not gonna let 'em catch the midnight rider No, I'm not gonna let 'em catch me, no I'm not gonna let 'em catch the midnight rider Not gonna let 'em catch the midnight rider
The original recording sounded better with the cungas. Sounds like his voice had had enough...cold, bad night, did he lose his voice from years of touring and recording? Great song, great band...where in hell are the drummers?
Warren stealing the vocals show here. He’s looking at Greg hoping he doesn’t get mad but I think Greg was cool with it because he wasn’t looking like he was feeling so good here.
- At mid - song . . . who the the heck // // hell is that one dude puting forth that guitar solo ? ? ? What ' s his name ? ? ? Technically // technically . . . I think that .this L I V E version sounds beautiful in a D I F F E R E N T way . Very nice .
