Hi Dan. First time to comment here but your videos basically got me into gardening (polytunnel and raised beds) 12 years ago now. Thanks for all your tips and tricks over the years! PS this has been the worst year of the 12 for ripening tomatoes because of the constant cloudy weather in the NW.
Yeah I know. But then you try to adapt and it'll go from the mildest Winter on record to coldest. Just don't seem to win with our random Island climate. Cheers 😊
Now see if I walked through there I’d have face planted a few spider webs by now 😂😂. But it’s like a secret garden in the field. Not a flock of seagulls then. Great update Dan, my garlic here looked great on top but not impressed it didn’t split and we have bloody snow ⛄️. Oh well what do gardeners say 😂😂 there’s always next year. Have a great weekend Dan, Ali 🌞🇨🇦
Hi Dan, I grew the Polish tomato Maskotka this year in hanging baskets. They are a really strange tomato, the plant seems to produce all its flowers at the same time and as the fruits grow the plant withers, so not a continuous harvest. I had six plants and they all behaved this way. Loads of really sweet fruit of them.
We got freezing weather for garlic, but it got really hot in the early summer and some of my garlic bulbs split before the normal time I would harvest. Your garlic is fantastic looking.
Eyup Dan. I remember when that was all fields. That's it - I am now officially an old git. You should have a go at nettle broth fella - my dad grew up on it. When his uncle Willy killed a pig they had nettle and ham broth and my dad got 't pig's bladder to use as a football. If he were lucky. I'll sithi after! Dave.
Would you like some Barry's crazy cherry tom's, I've got a couple going they look mental, covered in flowers, have a google at them and let me know! Elista are my favourite shallots thanks to you, wont bother trying anything else now!
