A mini series that I thought I would do, kind of based on many of the questions that get asked both on this channel and on my instagram account.
In this video I discuss;
What tools are actually needed.
Raised bed and grow tunnels,
Discussing ‘No Dig’
What fertiliser I use.

Hello Ian, I am new to your channel and thank you for this useful video, I have a half plot and the plan is to go no dig in the future, for now I will dig and I am planning to have the beds about 5 meters long by 1 meter wide, happy gardening, Sam (Nottingham)

Hi Sam. Many thanks for watching and for taking the time to message, much appreciated. It’s great that you have a plan on the way you wish to develop your allotment gardening style. Also worth remembering that the most successful ‘no dig’ practice begins by digging to remove perennial weeds and to alleviate the soil compaction. Once you have done that then the actual process of ‘no dig’ is more successful. Loving the use of long beds. I made mine 1.2m wide as that felt the widest I could go while being able to comfortably reach the middle. That width also helped to maximise my plot space. I’m also on instagram under the same name if you want to share progress or need any advice. Happy growing 🪴
