Creating a Linux distribution, even one based on RHEL, can be a challenge, especially if the goal is to maintain full compatibility with the latter. The presentation will focus on obtaining and modifying source code, building packages and checking their binary compatibility, maintaining security advisories, building all images possible, as we do for AlmaLinux OS.

I am surprised Red Hat hasn't gotten sued or at least court challenged with their source code license potentially violating the GPL, at least for all of the GPL-licensed components they use to build RHEL. It almost sounds like they are following this source available model instead of being fully open source, despite their claims otherwise.

Whether or not that's true isn't something we decided to engage on, really. We're just focused on making a solid distribution for our users.
