Almazan Kitchen Knife Review

After months of waiting, I finally received the original Almazan Kitchen knife directly from the creators of the channel. I DO NOT SELL THESE KNIVES NOR DO I MAKE THEM. I am simply making a personal review on what I think about this knife. The overall length of the knife is 12 inches from the tip to the end of the handle. The width of the blade is around 3.5 inches, which is surprisingly really comfortable to hold and chop with. I absolutely love this knife and would recommend it to anyone that is in the kitchen a lot and would put some good use to it!
PLEASE CONTACT ALMAZAN KITCHEN ON FACEBOOK TO PURCHASE THEIR GENUINE KNIVES AND PRODUCTS.
PS- this is my first video, I will have more to come on how to sharpen it and with more cutting tests.
Thanks for watching and please share with your AlmazanKitchen friends! :)
Keywords: knife, AlmazanKitchen, Almazan, Chefs knife, Serbian.

I was working as a chef in a luxury restaurant till a few months ago. Let me tell you: 300 bucks for a knife.. is ok, still somehow much if you think about that you can get a very good set of knifes for 300. But, if its a good quality then its ok to charge that. I cant tell if its a rip off bcuz i never used it, but just cuz of the price its not. You cant tell if you didnt use it.

Hey AlmazanKitchen! Glad to see you here! I don't think the price for your knife is too pricey, in fact, I expected it to be a little more. From watching your videos I've learned that you made this knife yourself. I hope you can market them, along with other items successfully. I like your carbon steel skillet, and your wood utensils. My cookware is not just something I cook with, it's part of me! Yours would be a fine addition!

Some people are saying this dude got ripped off. But seriously, Almazan's videos are free to watch, if anyone appreciate their works, a knife plus supporting donation for $300 is not a bad deal. At least from what I can tell the knife and the guard are good quality unlike some crap on kickstarter.

The black finish, is a blacksmith's or kuroichi finish and it protects the blade against rust... the actual bevel as in all untreated carbon steel will be more reactive and have to be dried after each use

Let's remember that AlmazanKitchen makes that "Almazing" show for free so I do agree that 300 bucks worth it(more than you can afford pal, ferrari lol), by the way you guys from AlmazanKitchen should craft some signature on blade and or sheath like a proof of autheticity.

basically it is an enlarged santoku knife so it would be both an utilitarian knife and a chef knife.. The fact they added a sheath out of real leather it is quite nice. Considering that the blade is carbon steel it helps a lot with the edge both for the edge quality and for the edge retention. Really curious what they used and I don't know why I think it is from a circular saw blade, spring leaf or an old scythe. Forest, mountain and the fact that I am born a little bit North to them, over the Danube, where the people in the mountain villages are doing the same :). Regarding the price I would say it is a little bit overpriced also the knife is handmade (it takes some time) and you receive a handmade real leather sheet that could go easy at 80-100$, but the real price is in the eye of the owner. If you are happy with the knife then good for you and I wish you to use it happy for many many years.

if you pay attention to the original knife on some of his videos, there is a bevel on the top ridge of the knife where the knife and index finger come in contact and I don't see the same ridge on your knife. I believe your knife is actually a Chinese cleaver that has been modified as some people are stating on the comments I have read.

ok. I think I missed something, or you didnt' tell us where to get it. Are you the person who is cooking in the forest? I am asking that becouse he also uses a clay pot over he fire. Normally you can't put clay pots over the fire they will brake, so this one must be ''special''and finally he also uses a stone peculiar mortar ....again i never saw one like that. Must be very heavy, but original. I also am interested beside the knife the clay pot. Thank you much you did a great job. and i love the vido program of cooking with an owl and in the forest, something different.

Based on the video I can't see any difference between the knife and a standard carbon steel CCK Chinese chef's knife other than the shape. I'm having a difficult time figuring out why this knife is worth such a price when one may purchase a CCK large Chinese Chef's knife which is essentially the same thing (again except for the shape) for under $100 US dollars. Would appreciate your comments.

He is reviewing a different knife than the one from the Almazon kitchen guys. He is reviewing Almazonknives.com knife, which costs about 80 bucks, rather than 350. But he says he paid 350 for it, so something fishy is going on if you ask me. Almazankitchen.com sell theirs for more, but on sale for around 160.

So basically "this is an awesome knife because I bought it and it is amazing and it is really really good and it chops things and I like it." I love AlmazonKitchen probably more than any other food channel on RU-vid. These guys are great to the tenth power. Great photography and great recipes. This knife design has little more to offer than a $40 cleaver. And they are asking nearly 10 times that. Yes I understand that hand made knives made to order will demand more $$ because mass production methods lower costs, but get real, you can spend $100 on a knife that is far more useful. As for the review video above, please get a little more involved about what you like and dislike about it. Do not fall into the trap of "I spent money on it so it must be good" syndrome. I would be willing to bet you are having some regrets right about now. Nearly $400 for a cleaver? I am not trying to hate and I actually considered buying one of these knives to support these guys but it looks pretty rough and $300-$400 would get you an unbelievable work of art such as a Bob Kramer Henckel or a Myabi with a birch wood handle. Sorry to be so brutal but your review described very little about the knife.

@slavensmolcic
@slavensmolcic 7 лет назад
drk321 You were not brutal,just realistic.I have made myself that knife,but from wood saw so it was quite thinner,and I have to say that it's unpractical for most of the use in kitchen.It might be impressive on first sight,but on first cutting of some small vegetables like garlic,pealing small onion,you could get very fast disappointed. So I've cutted some 4cm of blade and made a santoku from it.Which I'm using it for almost a year. Every day. ;-) And with modern technology,I think that it took bigger effort to make that leather shields than knife itself.

Before you go Spend $499+ for this knife. Judge for yourself from the facts below. Customers have spoken and our quality is proven. Buy the Best Quality Guaranteed Knife from Us at a Very Reasonable Price of $89.00 It is clear why the kitchen channel is making false statements about us as it is there attempt to justify why their price is $499+. Don’t get us wrong, we love them as much as the next fan and appreciate all they do but their knife offer is not a fair one. We would like to clear up a few other false claims. They claim, that the knife is their own design is false. This style has been used for decades and made my knife makers around the world and is known as a Serbian chef knife. Yes, most people who are not knife experts and have only seen this knife on the kitchen channel, so they can easily be persuaded by these false claims. The kitchen channel people do not make the knives. They are buying from others and reselling. The claim that we are going to run off with your money and that our knife will break in 1 day is just plain rubbish. We are a true knife maker and have over 30 years of experience to back it up and we stand by our customers. We are here to lay any concerns to rest, just give our customer support a call from anywhere in the world and give us chance to prove ourselves.

This is exactly the same knife that I accidentally purchased 4 weeks ago - it is a fraud and a fake knife! It has all the same leather trimming and features of the knife which was a fraud. I'm surprised Almazan Kitchen commented this video with a support, because it is identical to the fake knife! They are the experts. I'm real pissed off cause I purchased the fake knife now I need to get the officail knife from the channel.
