Happy with mine but just wish there were more watchfaces... There's also this weird inconsistency with some faces being customizable or having AOD, others - neither. Sadly, I get the impression new faces aren't coming. There's been no additions since the day I got mine.
They won't be coming, they never do. Xiaomi releases a new band model every year and almost completely abandonds the previous ones. There are some third party apps for watch faces, for Mi Band 8 there is "Mi Band 8 watch faces" which works great, I got the Casio and Fallout Pipboy themes which are my favorite. Other than that your band won't get any updates, now that the Band 9 series is out.
I really thought you had reviewed this months ago, and I've had mine since last year. Then I realized you'd gotten the global version, which is probably only very recently available. There always seems to be compromises when U.S. customers deal with Chinese fitness trackers, even more so than users in Europe. I had a serious time zone issue, which they seemingly finally fixed with a software update. At least Xiaomi have always had a better track record with watchface availability than Huawei, Honor, etc. Being excited about the latest fitness tracker in the Samsung ecosystem (even though they CLEARLY don't want Americans to buy one), I picked up the global Fit 3, and find I like it more than the Band 8 Pro. Everything about the fit, finish, and GUI impresses me more than the Band 8 Pro, even though it's a little smaller. I also like the water lock feature that keeps the screen from constant activation while showering. I've used Samsung phones exclusively for at least the past decade, and it's nice now to use a Samsung watch that didn't cost half of what the phone can, and need near daily charging. I get plenty of functionality, and still manage to go minimum 2 weeks between charges. I was never much of a fan of the Fit 2, but the 3 is great. I hope Samsung eventually offer a full blown smart watch in the form factor of the Fit 3. I've never been much of a fan of round watches.
That was helpfull ,I was wondering between Mi Band 8 Pro or Fit 3 ,I've read on reddit that there is sync problems with Samsung Health and sleep tracking is not that good.
@@DOPPELGANGER49 Glad to hear that. It seems to be true that those 2 issues you mention are valid for many people. I can personally say that I think my sleep reports are more "glowing" than I think would be reflected by reality but, overall, I just love how the Fit 3 "fits" in to the Samsung ecosystem, and I've been using their phones for well over a decade. The Galaxy Flip 6 just might be next.
@@ajbfwb I have S23 and that is the big factor ,fit 3 will work perfect with Samsung phone ,but I guess the app is lacking something ,I will buy it and hope they release updates ,couse I don't think the hardware inside the tracker itself is the problem.
@@muhammadnoman06 i finally decided to buy band 8 pro 🤣 but i think i'm sensitive with the sensor on the bottom of the band. It irritates my hand and left red marks like burnt
It has a Strava integration. As for Spotify - it can only control it when it is playing on your phone. You can play, pause, skip or play the previous track and control the volume.
The app shows all the possible sections not necessarily covered by your tracker. BP is not supported with this one. You can see VO2max in the HR details
So wait, I've watched both your videos about these and I still don't know which one you would recommend between these two: Redmi Watch 4 (Global), or Xiaomi Mi-Band 8 Pro (Global) - and why?
I recently started a work-from-home job and noticed I've gained about 5-6 kgs in just 2 months. I'm now motivated to exercise and burn fat, so I'm considering getting a fitness tracker. I have a Xiaomi device, but since Xiaomi hasn't launched a Mi Band in India for over 3 years, I'm opting for the Samsung Fit 3. Despite initial concerns about compatibility without a Galaxy phone, it's working well. It's disappointing that Xiaomi hasn't released a new band or watch for the Indian market, forcing us to look elsewhere for fitness trackers.can u make a detailed video on mi band 8 vs Samsung galaxy fit 3 😅
Are there any differences between the Chinese and global versions? Because the price difference in my country is half the price of the Chinese version of Amazon
Alexa is not working for me, every time I open the app it says: connect to mi fitness and let the app run in the background. Does anyone know a fix? (I have global model)
I have uninstalled and install a few time. Yet when using Alexa, it says ‘connect to the apps’. What is wrong and how to connect with Alexa? Im using iPhone btw.
@TechMishka I'm using band 8 Pro chinese version , I used to use huawei band 3 and used to be very comfortable , I tried switching bands on my 8 Pro but it still gives my hands numbness and pain so what I do is switch it between both hands..
@sharon3157 right , the strap that came with it is very uncomfortable , and the circle in the middle or the overall design is a little painful and uncomfortable for me . I have bought a rubber case for it and a bunch of new straps , found a few that made my experience much better but still it isn't what I was used to.
Why these thick bezels? Almost all smart watches have thick bezels.Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro has a beautiful design but has thick bezels. So I won't buy it
