Outdoor Chef Life just recently posted about Uni. He heard from someone in ?New Zeland? that told him they smoke their Uni. He tried it and his reaction was that it was amazing. He said he liked it way better smoked and didn't know if he could eat it any other way after that. LOL It's probably one of his last 6 or 8 videos, I think.

Just seeing this video now. How did I ever miss it. Omg, your fall is crazy. I'm glad you're ok. Definitely got to be careful on those rocks. Your fall is a good reminder that we need to watch our steps when poke poling or fishing on the rocks.. I ate it once and was limping for a week. Other than that nice pricklebacks. And your dishes always look bomb.

You need to get Outdoor Chefs Life out there with you. That was one heck of a tumble you took there. Glad you are alright. As much fun as poke poling looks, I think I'll stick to the sand. It doesn't hurt as much when I trip. Spent this evening on Morro Strand. Caught one Barred about 15 inches.

Haha it’s so much safer on the sand 🤣 if you do try poke poling, just don’t move around too fast and make sure your feet are planted well

Glad you didn't die for real, Edward! I know the feeling of falling on the rocks and instantly regretting it. I took a really bad spill out in Morro Bay on the jetty and had to be carried out. Couldn't walk without an old grandma walker for at least a week. Worst pain I've ever felt. Please be safe out there!

Right!? It got to the point where amputation sounded a little better! 😅 but yea it made sense to leave it in the video instead of ignoring it so people can see and learn from seeing someone else get hurt and not from experience

Hey Edward, your loss of balance and dramatic fall is a badge of honor, glad only your pride was wounded :) Also your buddies had your back in case you needed serious help. Areas like that are FULL of dangers ("slippery surfaces" doesn't give it justice, leg and ankle breakers with all the fissures, skin shredders and god forbid skull crackers) but adventure IS sometimes dangerous.. if you ever break the skin (you were fully clothed - that was smart) make sure you flush the open wound quickly with plain soap n water, antiseptic, alcohol, iodine or hydrogen peroxide = those areas are full of microorganisms and you don't want infections!! Anyone who has put in the time fishing jetties and the rocky shorelines at low tide has experienced the same. Despite my knowledge and experience (30 years) I too, have had a few... FISH ON BROTHERS!

Right!? It was only fitting to leave that clip in the video to open up awareness and dialogue around jetty/ tide pool safety. We aren’t invincible and the areas we fish deserve the upmost respect. Even- as you mentioned, the microorganisms that can wreak havoc after a spill

It’s actually a lot of fun to catch them. Frustrating at times but so satisfying to get em out of that hole. They’re so slippery too that sometimes pullin em out is just half the battle

Frank Pereira here.. I totally forgot about the fish after seen humpty dumpty (your friend words) taking a fall 10:49 that bagpack was too heavy although helped you as a cushion or helped to make you bounce rock to rock, we almost lost you. 🙄I wonder what Veronica said ?

Yea! It was nuts and Squad fishing caught just the right angle on the fall too! And good point about the backpack being a blessing and a curse. Veronica laughs it off. She knows it ended up not as bad as it could’ve been.

You bit it hard, hopefully you have recovered! A buddy slipped off the wheel well on my boat trailer and it looked like he landed on my driveway pretty soft, I thought! 3 weeks later, he told me, he went to emergency and said he could not move for 3 days! I know this was several months back I don't know if you switch since but if you're trying to do weight loss get rid of the canola oil and switch to olive oil, avocado oil or coconut oil and also switch to brown rice.

your hook was waaaay too big. normally use regular bronze baitholder in the size 4 and 2. glad you came out of that fall. maybe use the fish satchel ?

Yea this was a hook we used at the last poke pole location with Monica and Leroy. A lot more grass bass under ledges which made that hook small! But yea, regular bait holder hooks would work nicely. These stronger Gauge hooks are nice though since it’ll take more than an eel to bend out...
