main reason for riot making things easier is because there are less newer players joining league so they want to help grow the game and make it easy for new players to join and have fun

A game like this would have tilted me out of my mind, it's one of those games where you try your best but nothing works out out of sheer bad luck, and you also get camped/inted/etc. It was such a relief watching you get some kills then go on to win, wpgg

In all fairness whenever I'm trying out a new champ, I'm basically just looking up what the main runes, what abilities to level up, and items you need to play them anyways. So having that all built in the game already would be better.

I will never understand high elo players criticising Riot for making the game more accessible for casual players. Feeling like you have to do 3 hours of studying before playing a game is a huge mental hurdle that stops people from playing league every once in a while or starting to play league at all. These changes don't affect good players whatsoever, but helps remove barriers to entry for casuals and new players and is a very good change for a game in decline.

0:00 i like these changes since i actually want my friends to get into game and play and not get overwhelmed or not know what to do while playing. Also If they end up getting awful runes and summoner spells or build completely opposite of what is actually good they get flamed over and over and makes them not want to play.

The recommended stuff shouldn't really be different from third party apps and is a positive improvement for newer players since they aren't required to use those anymore. As it stands right now if two new players face each other and one of them uses an app like blitz, while the other doesn't, the one who does use it will most likely win.

Nowadays I mostly only play wild rift (LoL on mobile) because the games are faster and more casual friendly. There's plenty of beginner-friendly features on wild rift, such as: - items pages and rune pages are merged together (I call them "build page"); - 3 recommended build pages for every character by default, and the possibility to copy the build pages of the top 3 players of the server; - visual indication when you can last-hit a minion (the health bar goes white); - if you play on red side, the map is rotated 180°; - when a game start, there's an arrow pointing where your lane is (except for junglers obviously); - there's an auto-aim for pretty much any ability in the game (but it sucks for skill shots unless if you do it at point blank). I think it is mostly there to ease controls due to playing on mobile; - Activable items (such as proto-belt, gargoyle stoneplate, etc.) are called enchantments on wild rift. Enchantments are upgrades to boots, and you can only have 1, so you only have 1 activable item to worry about while playing, it's convenient. To be fair, I expect some of these features to appear someday on LoL pc.

I remember people saying the exact same "dumbing down the game" when the new summoner's rift hit, when they introduced jungle camp timers(you just had to physically write/type down your timers back then). I don't like it either because its useless to me, but I think in a few years we'll all go "how was this not in the game all along"?

So I just started playing League last year, and I gotta say it absolutely needs the preseason changes they’re making to make the game accessible for new players. If I didn’t have a friend holding my hand and introducing me to all the mechanics I’d have been dead in the water. The game makes no effort to explain runes, optimal leveling patterns, jungling, etc.

"I'm doing well but it just doesn't work out for me" couldn't be more true. It's why I stopped playing top, I'd either get a dogshit matchup and couldn't play the game, or I'd be winning and I get permacamped by jg or mid. I'm not exadurating when I say this was every game I played top. Sure, I might not be as optimal playing top lanes as support, but it beats the hell out of staying under tower at 2hp for 25 minutes, or being 4/0 to 4/8 with nothing I can do about it. Yeah, you can also say skill issue, and I am a more passive laner, care more about farm, but I do win my trades often, and get first blood a decent amount when I'm not against a champion made after 2019

baus the changes they're making with all the recommendation stuff is not for you, just turn it off. there are plenty of tools that do the same stuff, and a majority of league players are casuals. with this many champions and items in the game right now i think it will be a very good thing for new players.

After reading those top lane changes all I can picture is how important it is now to pick a winning lane top or avoid one that’s impossible to play. Was already bad enough getting zoned off one wave, or when your counter double stacks and dive with their jungle while yours is wiping his ass and you come back to lane down 2 levels and game is over. It’s going to be even worse than that now

I personally use something to create rune pages, summs and ability level ups. It's just not part of the game that interests me a lot. I want to play my champion, not go in-depth into min-maxing the stat choices. Anyways, the choice is still there if you want it, so what is there to complain about?

I still can't understand people with 13 years of experience asking why we need this changes. Ask yourself a question "How much time do you think a new player will need to adapt ?". How many years ? Countless items, 150+ different champs with 5 different skills, runes, whole map, etc. Think for more than 2 sec and just don't ask "why we need this?". Thx.

And im assuming this is a option that you can turn off? so I honestly dont see a issue with the game hand holding players who have no clue what they are doing. the loadout changes are insanely good for new players, i have friends joining league right now and they constantly shit on the game because they dont tell you jack shit when you start playing. if you dont like the loadouts you can just not use them or maybe turn off the pathing function lol also all of this is in wild rift so nearly no effort porting to regular league

Why does it bother you that they are making league easier for new players? They are not forcing experienced players to follow the "recommended" builds, jg paths, ability level ups. There might even be an option to turn if off. It pisses me off how this bothers so many people, literally just ignore it.
