We take you to eastern Nebraska for the story of some small farm power! A 1948 Avery V and a 1951 Minneapolis Moline V are twin tractors that only differ in their paint scheme, decals and badges. These machines are prized by Ron Maeder who loves to collect small tractors. They are easy to haul and store -- and Ron is full of knowledge of this very useful and historic farm tractors.

That's a sweet collection of small tractors. Decidedly more interesting that a similar number of the same brand of tractor.

A small tractor like that would still be useful for a truck farmer or hobby farmer today. I restored an Allis Chalmers G several years ago for my son. He uses it regularly on his food plot and couldn't be happier with any modern tractor.

Correct pronunciation is 'Paa-pee-yon'. A French word meaning 'butterfly '

not every farmer woulf be glad to have one of them tracors....I met some farmers that said The joy of farming stopped after they bought a tractor. My Grampa kept queeny and Barney, even after he bought a JD h, and a oliver Hart parr standard. tractors are mans noise. Horses are GODS noise. tractors did little to improve a farmers life. My Grampa farmed 40 acres,raised 9 kids and milked 12 cows. all of his machinery was new,and nearly new,.Grampa could sleep at night. Today farmers are on a treadmill that they can not get off of.

Mr. I disagree with the comment, that tractors did little to improve farmers Lives. I was raised on a farm that had both horses and tractors. We worked horses in the garden and tractors in the fields. There's a big difference. Without tractors today we'd go hungry.
