Just found this guy after watching his performance on The Voice finale. I love his straightforward delivery without the heavy melisma so many pop artists bring to their music. And his fusion of R&B with Alternative makes him appealing to those of us who aren't hardcore R&B fans. Nice!
This was my summer anthem in 2011. I just today found out his voice is in "wake me up"... Aloe Blacc deserves the recognition hes getting he is truly a quality artist.
Heard this joint when it first came out in 2010 & the Mac Miller remix even made it a bigger jam to this. Coming back to it in 2020 & it’s still kicking strong and giving me some solid backup vibes, I’d have to give proper to Aloe & his Producer men. Simply timeless.
Didnt realize until his recent success with Avici and looking him up on Spotify that this was the same artist who did Wake Me Up! Wow that's great I've been hearing this song for a while, and its awesome hes also in newer music. Back when i first heard I Need A Dollar I thought it was an older 70's song!
He is an amazing singer. This guy is the type of person who should be globally famous. He is great live! I wish more people knew about this awesome singer!
I heard this on the radio every time I went to the beach and now I'm getting so many flashbacks and I feel like I'm travelling to all those beaches from lockdown and it's freaking great.
you know took me time to get it because if you come to greece you may see a money problem be here people dont care about money like money is life because we know that life is more than money something you'll never learn... ohh and i know you are actually jealus of our current natonal anthem cause youll never have one equal either
John Peace Well I aint against Greece, or anything of the sort. It's just a joke that has arisen from the countries unfortunate economical crisis. Think nothing of it then if it offends you so badly.
Exerior Pendragon We don't need euros. We need people to communicate in orded to find a way to develop our economy. That's what our people need: "Not your money, but you"
I used to love this song almost six years back while watching the 'How to make it in America' series, and now whenever dollar strengthens its positions globally these lyrics keep poppin into my mind :)
***** it's not a typo, it's deliberate capitalization of the first letter of each word - it takes more effort than not capitalizing, which is what i do. my orthography is perfect apart from the lack of capitalization. this is why i said typing like he does is stupid - because it is. i don't capitalize at the beginning of sentences because it isn't detrimental to your understanding of my typing - if i needed, for instance, to distinguish between "Rose" and "rose" - i would capitalize - because these words have different meanings. "Just sayin'".
***** hate? what are you talking about?? "i bet they don't even know the rules..." was a joke - i made a reference to the internet rules. have you never heard of them? if not - there's my point. also, i'm not angry, and i'm not spreading hate as far as i'm concerned, i really don't see why you'd say that. as to how long it took me to type that much... i often write close to 100 lines in youtube comments, when i'm in a discussion. 13 lines is nothing :)
Kavi Gosai Honestly I Don't Understand Why The Way I Type Would Bother You. I Can Type Any Way I Like. Do You Really Have That Much Time On Your Hands, That You Have To Type Long Annoying Messages In Reply To People You Don't Even Know?? Find A Hobby Or Something Man :/
I had no idea the 12" came with a dollar in it.. Had bought a used copy at play de records in Toronto.. Heard about the dollar thing and checked the sleeve and sure enough it still had the dollar in it.
Also: If you like surprises like this... check your new Black Thought & Danger Mouse - Cheat Codes vinyl... Comes with a free unadvertised CD copy.. I can only confirm it comes with the red vinyl for sure.
Kempton Robinson Jr I hope you understand that many times, way too many times, money you give them goes towards alcohol or drugs. Of course there are always homeless who use it for food, hygiene products, meds etc. but generally giving money is a bad idea.
If you pay attention...on the part where he says... ''Cause everything around me is crumbling down'' when he first says it....he said... ''Cause everything around me is falling down''(1:08 - 1: 12)... but if you read his lips..he mistakenly said ''crumbling'' instead ''falling'' lol
Lyrics: I need a dollar dollar, a dollar is what I need Hey hey Well I need a dollar dollar, a dollar is what I need Hey hey And I said I need dollar dollar, a dollar is what I need And if I share with you my story would you share your dollar with me Bad times are comin' and I reap what I don't sow Hey hey Well let me tell you somethin' all that glitters ain't gold Hey hey It's been a long old trouble long old troublesome road And I'm looking for somebody come and help me carry this load I need a dollar dollar, a dollar is what I need Hey hey Well I need a dollar dollar, a dollar is what I need Well I don't know if I'm walking on solid ground Cause everything around me is falling down And all I want - is for someone - to help me I had a job but the boss man let me go He said I'm sorry but I won't be needing your help no more I said Please mister boss man I need this job more than you know But he gave me my last paycheck and he sent me on out the door Well I need a dollar dollar, a dollar is what I need Hey hey Said I need a dollar dollar, a dollar is what I need Hey hey And I need a dollar dollar, a dollar is what I need And if I share with you my story would you share your dollar with me Well I don't know if I'm walking on solid ground Cause everything around me is crumbling down And all I want is for someone to help me What in the world am I gonna to do tomorrow Is there someone whose dollar that I can borrow Who can help me take away my sorrow Maybe its inside the bottle Maybe its inside the bottle I had some good old buddy his names is whiskey and wine Hey hey And for my good old buddy I spent my last dime Hey hey My wine is good to me it helps me pass the time And my good old buddy whiskey keeps me warmer than the sunshine Hey Hey Your mom of mayhem just a child has got his own Hey Hey If god has plans for me I hope it ain't, written in stone Hey Hey Because I've been working working myself down to the bone And I swear on grandpas grave I'll be paid when I come home Hey Hey Well I need a dollar dollar, a dollar is what I need Hey hey Said need a dollar dollar, a dollar is what I need Hey hey Well I need a dollar dollar, a dollar is what I need hey hey And if I share with you my story would you share your dollar with me Come on share your dollar with me Go ahead share your dollar with me Come on share your dollar give me your dollar Share your dollar with me
When i was younger n’y dad bought the novathune Cd. I was in love with this cd and this song. I was always finding it very easely because of , is yellow color
+Brownies are pretty neat He's beggin' his ass off too! He's the coldest panhandler I'VE ever seen..Lol! If I ran into him singing that on the street,I'd tear him off $20 bucks..
Justin Bieber's newest album is actually very good. I don't think he is better than Aloe Blacc but Beiber has actually gotten significantly better. Taylor Swift still is, and will always be shit.
+Nico Seplak Not saying I like Swift's music, (I actually turned down both dating and working with a hot entertainment attorney because it's all she would sing at karaoke) but the girl does have business sense, and knows how to manage her celebrity status and brand. It's total fluff, but there is a reason she's successful. She's an excellent businesswoman (and no, it's not ALL her handlers and staff, but they do help.)
MRJ ProDuctionS wait, are you stupid or trolling, look at the views of the video, it got famous and what happens when people get famous, *they git dat money*
I remember finding this song when I was 13 and enjoyed so much I listened to it every day even today 10 years later I still am listening to it every day
