NPC Advantages: no requirements. gardevoir (life dew) is particularly helpful due to muk's lack of healing move or item and reliance on heal cheers. burners (drifblim, arcanine) and paralyzers (bellibolt, umbreon, and dudunsparce) help. sylveon (charm) and intimidators (tauros, staraptor) don't help much due to clear smog and lack of taunt. arboliva is harmful because it lays terrain with its ability which boosts sceptile's leaf blade.
Strategy: 3x minimize, clear smog until your stats reset, 3x minimze, clear smog, heal cheer when you need HP, 6x curse, clear smog, charge tera orb if needed, terastalize, tera blast to victory.
Notes: the long duration is largely due to all the setup turns. if you want to speed up the run you can do 4-5 curses instead of 6, and 2 minimizes before and/or after tera instead of 3. gluttony ability is just to avoid the alternatives, since poison touch can prevent allies from burning or paralyzing, and power of alchemy is too unpredictable.
Pros: supereffective tera type, good HP and def stats. decent spdef stat. excellent atk stat, resists leaf storm and leaf blade before terastalizing. immune to breaking swipe after terastalizing. minimizes raises 2 evasion stages. curse buffs 1 atk stage and 1 def stage. clear smog resets sceptile's stat stages, which counters dragon dance far more effectively when the shield is up than alternatives like breaking swipe. tera blast has 80 base power, 100 accuracy, and deals supereffective STAB damage when terastalized. covert cloak prevents atk debuff from breaking swipe.
Cons: tera type mismatches base type, relies on heal cheers to heal. outsped by sceptile, cuts it close on time.
