@@HisWordisLife4U There's no structural support in bricks stacked like that. If the soil is prone to moving a lot it will out pressure the water and collapse the walls inward. If the soil is soft and prone to water logging then the water will out pressure the soil and collapse it outward. The only thing that could be done to try and avoid that is to backfill with gravel as a buffer between the soil and the wall but at 31:48 you can clearly see she is backfilling with fill dirt. Don't get fooled into thinking this channel is real, it's all fake for youtube clicks.

Perhaps you should watch the other build videos of this pool…maybe you’ll learn something.

You do realize many commercial pool for towns and communities are built from cinder blocks don’t you. There are also many many many tunnels and bridges built out of bricks. I can make an arch out of one run of brick that would hold a car up so strength isn’t an issue here

Watch the next 2 videos after this one, when she puts in all the plaster and paints it with waterproof paint. Then fills it with water. She wasn't done yet here.

I'd like to see it in 5 years, there is no way that it stands without cracking and caving. These videos make me laugh, if I laid bricks like that I'd be out of a job instantly.

​​@@addictiveaussie I would bet you on that, almost 50 year builder, she built buttresses and backfilled as she went up. She will probably fill it and compact the soil a little at a time. She stuccoed the brick wall on the inside and she will probably never empty it or have to worry about freezing or a water source to keep it filled. Of course you wouldn't do it as job you sold to a customer but it's her damn pool and you could tell she thought it through if you paid attention.

I've built pools and the minimum requirement is 200mm wide core filled blocks with N16 starter bars and N16 horizontal reinforcing laid on 400mm 20MPA concrete beam footing. Care to dispute it with me?

I work with concrete and I don't see rebar too. It's such a great design. I've even had kiddy pools blow when it's supports were compromised. Rebar and two rows on the bottom foot would be a minimum.

Maybe that's why we don't see the end filled with water. 😑

I agree. My husband built a brick planter box in front of our porch from the leftover bricks from our house and he did it just like this, albeit a bit neater, and it cracked across the front after awhile. We filled it with dirt and put plants in it and a drip watering system. I just don’t see how this will hold up as a pool over very long. One of my old friends growing up, her dad had a pool business and we watched her dad put in their pool and it takes a lot of reinforcement to hold together. There is so much under all the concrete. It’s not like they just slapped it on the ground and walls of the hole. That said, I do admire her hard work. I couldn’t do that.
