My Headcanon Days after Monika's deletion, a disastrous accident had occurred where the world the dokis inhabit, began glitching out of control much to Sayori's confusion but unfortunately, during this tragic turn of events, the files of Yuri, Natsuki and even the MC all cease to exist. Sayori, devastated at this, refuses to accept that her friends are lost, attempts to use her inherent newly obtained president powers she tries to restore everything back to normal. *But it didn't work.* Sayori didn't have full control over her "president" powers and not nearly as much of an understanding to it as Monika, due to gaining them just recently. Desperate but quick on her feet while on the subject, Sayori believes that if she can at least restore Monika's character file, she can guide her on how to use her powers to save everyone. Using the little knowledge of the new abilities she has, she frantically scans through the game's files and coding in a fleeting rush to find a potential backup file for Monika, looking through several folders and assets essential for running the game and was nearing ground. On the other side however, the Metaverse grew aware of the stunt Sayori tried to pull, realizing that their "club" cannot have two "presidents" and that they cannot afford demoting Sayori back to her vice president status, they quickly act knowing that pesky Monika obviously had a backup file in their game somewhere. Before Sayori could find it, they found it first, and completely deleting it from the game's files, officially removing any traces of Monika's existence in their game. But they had left something special in exchange. Although in reality she was stopped in her tracks, Sayori could only come up with conclusion... **She wasn't fast enough...** Much to her terror, the only trace of Monika she could find in the files was... just a simple image file that had the same frozen expression of her, Monika was sealed away in an image file for the rest of eternity with no way of properly being restored and Sayori could only watch as her hope crumbled before her very eyes, the metaverse had just killed two birds with one stone. Despite it not being her fault. To Sayori, it appeared exactly that way. With her only shred of hope destroyed, Sayori can only quake on her knees and mourn at the tragedy. It is rumored to this day by fans that Sayori still hallucinates the happy apparitions of her friends, even hearing the imprisoned image of Monika questioning her. The dejection in her eyes is so palpable that it looked like her very shadow was hanging itself motionlessly in the air.
