Hey, man. That's just part of growing up. Nobody wants to be without their family. But you have to go, where you can afford to survive. There is no way, I could have stayed in Illinois or Michigan on my own salary. I didn't want to get married or have roommates. And I knew, my saIary was going to be that much more lucrative down here. I left home in 1992. Nobody was sick or needed care back then. My mom's mom and dad moved to Wisconsin. My mom couldn't be there when her parents got sick because she had the tavern and us kids. Aunt Laurane never said, one single bad word to my mother (wouldn't have even crossed her mind ) about her not being there. I was down here when nana and nano got sick. I took 400 hours of FMLA and most of my vacation time, to be with them when I could. However, some of our family didn't think that was good enough. You can only do so much when you live away from home. Hopefully, when your parents are ill and dying, you won't get the same hatefulness from our (so called) family if you can't be there every waking moment of the day!
