Just finished some morning coffee while enjoying this video. I do not feel like going into my 9-to-5 now lol... this young man is showing us how to live life to the fullest. Thanks for taking us on your adventures Garrett. Your videos are fantastic!
A lovely adventure in a beautiful, maritime environment. However, living life to the fullest requires a community of like-minded individuals. We are relational beings and cannot be happy without good relationships. Lone wolves only exist alone until they find a pack to be in.
Garrett your adventures give me inspiration on how to keep pursuing my dreams! It gives me a connection that somehow I will make it to the Caribbean and have an adventure!
I was just about to turn off the T.V. and climb in bed when this popped up. You gave me something to dream about. When I wake up it will be back to reality - 8 F and over a foot of snow. LOL Safe adventures Garrett, take care.🇨🇦
I read lots of comments of how difficult it is to be alone in the middle of nowhere. Who says he's alone? He is with the birds, the sharks, the corals, the crabs, the wind that pushes his vessel, the tides that give him comfort, the sun that gives him life. Yup, he's definitely not alone.
Thats Paradise for me, the isolation, the water, the beach, No drama, no crime, no poliltics = Got access to food and water, petrol = Paradise and why I lve on a island, its inhabited but still an island.✌🏻🍻
Enjoy it my man! When I was 23 I drove from LA to Alaska and it was one of the best times of my life. Lots of open country, abandoned logging sites, animals...feels almost like your videos, the exploration of it all, going places where you can wonder if you're the first person to have stepped foot there. You're gonna look back on this fondly for the rest of your life. Have fun!
I grew up in a small town of Kapoho on the big island of Hawaii this video reminds me so much of what I used to do as a kid in the 80’s …miles of beach by myself swimming in tidal pools, exploring every nook and cranny of the coast line and the little bay…. until in 2018 lava flowed into that area and completely destroyed, the little town our home and the bay are used to swim in. There’s literally no trace of it left.
Thank you so much Garrett for showing us these unique and beautiful places. Love the underwater photography, amazing. You have my admiration for what you are doing, living your life to the full at a young age. Never forget you are doing something very special. Keep well and safe. James.
Yea, that shack on that tiny little island is crazy ... i can just imagine someone there popping up and asking you what you'd like to drink! Also, great job on mixing-in the drone footage and music. I'm amazed at how talented some of you young people are ... hats off. Keep up the good work!
There is something surreal about watching this while having heavy snowstorm outside. Just discovered the channel and after watching you cross the Pacific I just realized what kind of a whiny kid I was at my 19s playing video games and doing basically nothing. Now, in mid thirties, I think I still wouldn't have the courage to do anything similar. A very brave, strong-willed young sailor.
What a beautiful place and no people. I was beginning to think there was no trash but not to be! Absolutely clear water great for diving or snorkeling!!! Thanks for a great video, you are getting better at this. Thanks again and enjoy the peace and quiet!
I smiled when you mentioned the Kaneohe sandbar. I lived near there in the 70's and went out to explore the sandbar with my relatives in 1974. No-one else out there at the time.
I’m watching this from Michigan where its 39 degrees with a steely rain. I got a fire in the fireplace and dreaming I am on this trip with you…I think I would just sit on the beach watching the water for the first couple hours..thanks for bringing the sun to me and have safe travels!
Summer vacations on a sailboat with friends are in the plans this long summer on the most distant islands of my homeland.... Thank you for inspiring us to chase our dream once again!!... Seize the day!!... Stay safe... Good Seas....✊️✌️💯💥💎💎💎🌬🌊🏊♂️🌊⛵️🌊🐬🌊🇬🇷
Your production keeps improving! Still keeping it snappy, grounded, and understated which I really appreciate. Keep it up, my favorite video of yours yet!
Amazing! I click on these clips watch it until I lose interest. This one kept me watching to the end. I admire people with this kind of adventure at heart and the fact they make it happen.
Really been enjoying the ballsiness of your adventure and each video keeps inproving in your production. I could not handle the isolation but to stand on that totally empty atoll with so much ocean in every direction and know how you got there has got to be an incredible feeling. I just bought my own boat and will be spending summers cruising the Great Lakes to the places I went as a kid. You def are a good reminder that we can do anything we want if we just commit. Keep sailing my dude.
Just got through finals, it’s amazing to see other young men my age doing something I dream to do one day. I live vicariously through your videos friend, thank you.
I absolutely love your videos and am so proud of you, Garrett! Well done, you! Thanks for sharing. I am filled with joy and admiration as I watch you on your journey. Godspeed! 🙂🙏🩵
Wow dude, I watch quite a few solo sailer channel. YOU have without question have become my favorite. The audio and video production is second to NONE. Beautiful shots. I purchased a Balboa 27 on trailer 5 years ago. She's been on the hard here in Bloomery, West Virginia. You inspire me to hopefully get her splashed in May. I found a place at Colonial Beach Marina that's about 2 1/2 hours from my cabin in the mountains. I watch your channel hoping to learn how to sail my boat. Keep on going bro. Thanks for sharing your work. Rick
Thanks for taking US along. Imagine being on an island TOTALLY ALONE IS INCREDIBLE!!! Water around your boat looked like pool water😊 🗽NYC PS….you are living the life. I am 58 this year. When I imagine traveling to Europe alone in my 20s in the 1990s I can’t believe I did that. Ask me now that I am older ? I would tell you HELL NO as I would be caught up in fear.😊, crazy. Keep pumping out your expeditions here on the channel because like everyone else on here I AM ALL IN👍 Just curious any CELL SERVICE ON YOUR LAST ISLAND…..LOL
Tiputa Pass is the one to swim through, during tide change. A deep, fast water, river. The schools of fish go around you, over and below you, as they pass by. One of the greatest ocean experiences of my life. Nice to see the island again, and views from a drone! We didn't have that in 1990. You lucky dog. hahaha
@@malwelsh547 yeah...people always forget the "ed" at the end of a word and I cant count how many times I have left out the word "island" when writing, "deserted island". I guess you're right.
Absolutely breathtaking. You’re on quite an adventure finding some amazing places. God’s creation is truly remarkable. In fact, the Bible tells us that: ”For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.“ -Romans 1:20 Without excuse from what? Well, have you ever done anything that might have displeased God? Like told some lies? Stolen something? Used God’s name as a cuss word (blasphemy)? These are just a few of the Ten Commandments and we’ve all broken them. In other words, ”for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,“ -Romans 3:23 Which means we’re all in trouble on judgement day. ”And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,“ -Hebrews 9:27 So what’s the big deal? It’s actually a very big deal. It’s life or death. ”For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.“ -Romans 6:23. The bad news is we have earned death (wages) because of our sin against a Holy God. The GOOD news is in the second half of that verse. God provided an escape. God offers eternal life as a gift. Which means we can accept it or reject it. What did Jesus do? ”For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,“ 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 Why would he do that? He LOVES you! ”But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.“ -Romans 5:8 How do you accept this gift of eternal life and go to heaven? Simply BELIEVE my friend. ”“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.“ John 3:16. Believe also means “to have faith in” or to “trust “. ”Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,“ Romans 5:1 Repent and trust Jesus today Garrett. ”for He says…Behold, now is “the acceptable time,” behold, now is “the day of salvation“ -2 Corinthians 6:2 Garrett, I’ve quoted the Bible so that you would know that I’m not telling you some clever scheme I’ve dreamed up. This is straight from God’s word. And God cannot lie. And the Bible tells us we can KNOW we’re going to heaven. ”that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”“ -Romans 10:9-10, 13. ”These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.“ 1 John 5:13 Enjoy, man! And God bless❤
Hey Garrett, what an amazing adventure and a feeling of freedom to explore the world sailing the ocean. Your videos are amazing and I love the setup of your boat--It feels like all the necessary comforts of home. I can hardly wait for your next video
Sitting in my project room with boat parts everywhere, a half-disassembled new AIS, the newly built snubber I haven't whipped the eyes on yet, new battery electronics whose interface I'm still trying to figure out, the new igniter to put in my Force 10 stove that's twice as old as you are, and the lines I could pull for laundering over the winter, now waiting for warm days to put back. With a few inches of snow on the ground outside and my boat on the hard, it's part inspiration, part torture to see your tropical paradise, but I'm glad you're living that life right now. Maybe next winter I'll be in the Caribbean doing the same. From the shores of Lake Ontario, ahoy, fair winds and following seas!
seeing you becoming more confident both in your trips also in front of the camera makes me happy, dude. I am glad you finally upgraded your engine and did something about the hatch of the boat cabin where the water leaked and soaked your bed the last time(I might be wrong. The hatch looked different this time to me). Keep the vibe up👍🏻
