In a post-apocalyptic world, Ruby embarks on a treacherous journey west in search of her older brother Henry. Along the way, she encounters an enigmatic old woman who holds secrets of the past.
"This film holds a special place in my creative journey as it explores the depths of human resilience, the power of hope, and the enduring bonds that connect us across time and space.
From the outset, I have been determined to challenge the usual short film rules and break new ground in storytelling. Instead of adhering to the conventional approach of diving right into the center of the action, I set out to experiment and push the boundaries of the medium. Embracing the audacious vision of creating a feature film's three-act structure within the confines of a 20-minute film, I embarked on a creative journey filled with great difficulties and uncertainties. Yet, it is with immense pride that I can confidently say I have accomplished what I have been tirelessly striving for.
With "Along Came Ruby," I aimed to craft a narrative that not only entertains but also invites reflection on the human experience in the face of adversity. I sought to play with space and time, weaving together different timelines and working around time paradoxes to create a rich and thought-provoking narrative that challenges the preconceived notions of short films."
