By boat, by bike and on foot: Judith Rakers has been part of the "Wunderschön" team since 2021. Your journey along the Danube takes you from the three rivers city of Passau via the creative artist city of Linz through the world natural heritage region of Wachau to the Danube metropolis of Vienna. It gets sporty with trail running on the Schlögener Schlinge with grandiose views of the natural wonder of Upper Austria; The dive between pike and crabs in the blue-green Traun is adventurous. Judith Rakers lets off steam creatively in the graffiti harbor in Linz; Austria's culinary classics from apricot dumplings to Wiener Schnitzel and Sachertorte taste delicious.
Passau: City of three rivers with a Dachshund Museum and St. Stephen's Cathedral
In Passau, Judith Rakers dares to fly a paramotor plane despite her fear of heights - and is rewarded with wonderful views of the three rivers Danube, Inn and Ilz. She visits the only dachshund museum in the world and is amazed by the world's largest cathedral organ in St. Stephen's Cathedral.
Linz: creative graffiti art
Linz has changed from an industrial city to a city of culture. Both come together in the industrial harbor: graffiti artists from all over the world have immortalized themselves creatively and colorfully on the huge steel and concrete walls. Judith Rakers also uses the spray can.
Wachau: Apricot dumplings and a fairytale castle with a story
The picturesque river valley between Melk and Krems with its vineyards is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here Judith Rakers learns how the famous apricot dumplings are made. History can be felt at Artstetten Castle high above the Danube: In the fairytale castle, Judith Rakers meets the great-great-granddaughter of the Austrian heir to the throne, Franz Ferdinand, who was murdered in Sarajevo in 1914.
Vienna: enjoy tradition
It's getting traditional in Vienna. Judith Rakers goes on a little snack tour with the Fiaker: First there is Kaiserschmarrn, then she learns to fry Wiener Schnitzel, and at the end she treats herself to the famous Sacher cake.
