7:28 Watching Alonso's head snap from side to side as he keeps an eye on the other drivers while making split-second decisions, executes moves, and figures out what he is going to do next is nothing short of fascinating. I wish my computer had as much processing power as that 40 year old driver. Legend.
Fernando always had that, he's an amazing driver, many people disrespect him and underrated him after his Mclaren bad era, but he is an was an insane fast and profesional driver, he showed it many many many times in the last 20 years+, a truly Legend
it won't be there next year. f1 has a 10-year deal with qatar for 2023 onwards. whether that will be at losail or another circuit (possibly a doha street circuit) remains to be seen.
Top 2 : Verstappen insane start and overtake 3 car at the start. Top 1 : Alonso overtake Gasly on the Outside turn 2. Not in the top 10 : Ocon insane start, overtake 2 car a the start AND overtake Sainz on the outside turn 2. I mean it's like the start of Verstappen and the overtake of Alonso 2 in 1 and not even in the best onboard... COME ON ! Go check it if you don't see it :)
Tsunoda from Lap 2 to Lap 10 when he went down to the Pit had a visor tape stucked in rear wing. As a result, he lost 50 downforce points and balance, so other drivers could easily overtake him back then, and Yuki had no way to defend himself. Otherwise, Tsunoda would not be passed. Not him.
Why exactly? I see a very professional engineer giving precise instructions to his driver. Did y'all expect him to sing or something? This isn't a reality show
He definitely doesn't get enough recognition; especially when he does drive a spectacular race, most of the time it gets swept under the rug until he does make a mistake. Nice coming across your comment.
The new drivers are very streamlined, whereas Alonso and Kimi have very snappy driving styles. They push the car to the max and correct it when it goes beyond. Crazy
Wow, Alonso. Not only a fantastic driver but a master of racecraft in general. His tire management, insight to strategy and overall awareness of his surroundings and competitors is truly stunning. In a quicker car, Max and Hamilton would be in serious trouble.
Alonso is a legend ad I’m happy to see so many comments of appreciation in these days. I would add one detail that emerges from this video in the last seconds: he was involved in the incident of Bottas’ puncture (he was the following car) and he opens via radio saying immediately that track is clear, no need for slippery flag because he was afraid of a probably safety car in order to clear the track that could possibly cost him the podium. Very experienced driver, I start loving him in his Ferrari days and I’ll never stop 🔴🇮🇹🇪🇸
Incredible Max start, Perez chase to Alonso, a lot of high-speed puntcher, Alonso first F1 Podium in comeback season and 3 way fight 🤩👍 The best premiere in F1 pls more Qatar gp in F1 🤩🤩👍
Latifi: Confirming jumping from the car. Engineer: It's safe, but jump. Engineer puts hand on mic and whispers to colleague: 'I just want to see him do it'
@@nukdawn8529 I think it is because if the ERS battery is not fully emptied, the driver could become the path of least resistance from the chassis to the ground when he has one foot on either and get electrocuted. The cars also have indicators for the marshals to see if the car is safe to touch.
verstappen rarely breaks late. they just have so much better aero on their car, especially the reddbull that they can afford to be braver than other teams
Watching Alonso position his car on the track, both at the time of overtaking and defending from Gasly is fascinating. He knew mid corner where to position the car to not only make it cleanly at the next corner, but also to force Gasly on the outside and not allow Gasly to take advantage of his tow. Perfection...
Alonso's chop on Verstappen was also prep work to go around the outside of Gasly. From almost dropping to 4th he moves to 2nd the next turn. Still, Max got out of there just in time; that move from Alonso was nasty. @8:14 That Alpine on Soft tires and throwing sparks, at night, is a thing of beauty. Alonso's iconic helmet helps too.
Alonso in Baku 2018 got a rear right and front right punctures at the same time, made it to the pits and still finished 7th in a McLaren which wasn't anywhere close to the form it is today.
For me, when Alonso ´s car goes through Bottas´s car sparks it looks like how i imagine the onboard on the "DeLorean" of "Back To The Future" during the time travels.
8:49 Pra quê esmerilhar a Mercedinha com pneu furado desse jeito, Botinha? Achou que ia frear normal na curva? Tomou um tanto de brita no colo pra terminar mais sério o aviso prévio.
09.54 I hear the sound of the Renault engine Very promising for next year but I can only say they will get more podiums for next year. I'm not surprised that in 2023 Renault is competitive again
Am I the only one who is still not used to how Lance downshifts?? Starting at 3:08 And when you conpare with Seb, you will soon notice how much shakiness when he is turning, when Lance is in the Force India~Aston Martin days
Nope. he's been doing this for a while now.. and it concerns me. is the paddle too short? Does his left hand have an issue? He loses time when he downshifts and steers left.. never an issue with downshift to steer right.
I just love how Alonso immediately thinks about Perez and tells over the radio that the track is fine after Bottas’ puncture to try to avoid a safety car that would help Perez come back on him
