Welcome to the launch of our exciting new series, the Dabba Series, where every Monday we bring you delicious and easy-to-make lunchbox meals that pack a punch of flavor and nostalgia! In this first episode, we’re kicking things off with an irresistible combination that’s sure to remind you of those comforting homemade meals - Aloo Bhaji, Puri, and the perfect sweet treat, Pineapple Sheera! 🍍
In this episode, we’ll take you through:
Spicy & Tasty Aloo Bhaji: A classic potato dish with simple spices that’s perfect for a quick and hearty meal.
Crispy Puri: Light, golden, and puffed to perfection - a must-have to pair with Aloo Bhaji.
Pineapple Sheera: Sweet, soft, and bursting with the tropical flavor of pineapple, this dessert is the perfect end to any meal.
👨‍🍳 What You’ll Need:
For Aloo Bhaji :
Ghee - 1.5 tbsp
1 green chilli slit
Methi dana - 1tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1tsp
Ajwain - Pinch
Hing - Pinch
Jeera - 1tsp
Ginger Chopped - 1.5 tsp
Chilli Powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Dhaniya Powder - 1tsp
Tomato fine chopped -2
2 Potato Boiled & mashed
Salt - to taste
Water 1/2 Cup
2 tablespoon Coriander leaves chopped
Method :
In a pan add ghee, chilli, methi dana, mustard seeds, ajwain and hing a nd let it sputter.
To this add onion & ginger and saute
Now add tomato alonv with spices and cook till tomato is soft.
Now Add mashed potato and water and let it simmer
Now garnish with coriander
For Puri :
250g Wheat flour
20 g suji
Ajwain - 1tsp
Chilli powder 1tsp
Salt to taste
Oil - 2tsp
Water 80 ml
Method :
Take wheat flour and all other ingredients except water in a mixing bowl
Mix well to incorporate all the ingredients
Pour water to make a stiff dough yet without cracks
Rest the dough for 15 minutes and knead for 5 minutes before divinding it to 12 equal balls
Heat oil in a kadhai and fry the pooris on both sides until puffs and golden in color
For Sheera :
2 tbsp ghee
100 gms sooji
Roast the sooji till golden brown
To this add saffron infused milk and 2 cups water
Chopped Pineapple - 50gm
Sugar - 100gm
Salt - Pinch
Method :
In a pan heat ghee and add sooji. Roast till golden brown. Once golden add saffron infused milk and 2 cups of water. To this add chopped pineapple and sugar. Stir all in together. Lastly add salt to mix
