Well, this is what I've been looking for. Good to see them side by side. Alpaka is definitely better for organisation and far cheaper, especially on sale. Thanks for this 👍🏻
Hey, I’ve been watching your videos and subscribed to your channel for many years. I really like your style of reviewing bags. I’d love to see a thorough review of Bellroy’s latest Venture Travel Crossbody (sling?) bag. Thanks in advance!
I vote for Alpaka. The strap is removable and you can choose which side you want the buckle on. The key tether is better , the zippers are easier to use in practice
Bellroy bags are usually more expensive and far less capacity (40-50% less) than advertised. In fact, I'm surprised they haven't been reported to a consumer protection agency for false advertising of bag capacity. I also fault bag review sites for not calling out this obvious misrepresentation by Bellroy.
Bought both and returned the Bellroy; no comparison once in hand imo, Alpaka all the way. Also bought the Alpaka Tech Pouch Mini as an additional sling for tech edc carry.
Maybe you should do a video comparing these premium Bellroy and Alpaka with a RM 21 sling bag from Lazada. I think Malaysians still quite cost conscious when it comes to spending. Have to convince Malaysians that these are worthwhile investments which will last a long time, compared to a RM 21 cross body bag which can’t stand rough handling and will break/split when you’re at the passport check, spilling contents on the floor 😅😅😅
08:46 the shade of the bottles caused the video to shift colours... consider manually setting your cameras white balance at least in studio instead of AWB
Belroy remains miles ahead in features and aesthetics. Goes from airport to dinner without making you look like a tourist toolbag. Thanks for pointing out the airtag slit I missed that. You didn't mention however that the strap system is not only perfectly oriented for shoulder carry its also self-compressing making the bag as slim as possible at all times.
I hate hate hate those buckles! A definite deal breaker. I have and love both Bellroy Lite regular size and mini. Large for travel is perfect to keep on chest while sitting on plane. Mini is my weekend go to alternating between Aer go light. Bellroy for the win
You are right Jean, I also have a very very tough time to remove the Alpaka strap. Usially I will be sweating all over to get it removed. May take about good 5 to 8min. Haha
I bought the optional shoulder strap for my alpaka Metro tote and thought that the strap connector was a genius design for how it's easy to take off😅. Maybe because it's bigger but it's the same mechanism. You just have to push the two plastic ends that holds the metal hook lock towards each other, then push the metal hook lock out at the same time and it just automatically opens with a spring action.
@@ORIBAGSOfficial I really liked the Bellroy too for its weigh and size. I like the magnet mechanism but I have a lump on my left shoulder so the magnet buckle on the bellroy becomes useless for me. I liked the Alpaka more for its back pocket that gives me space to put hand sanitizer and the iPad mini slot. I think both are great bags but it depends on each person’s system. For me I carry an iPad mini and a small camera (lumix lx10) along with tissues, headphones, glasses. The structure on the Alpaka allows me to stack my items. The bellroy was more like a dump pouch while Alpaka gives me more organization.
bellroy cutting costs on their products with the fixed strap holder. alpaka wins in this case simply because of the detachable strap design. it is flexible for many carrying styles
Alpaka has a huge hype on the internet, but the products are terrible to use in real life. Ordered three Alpaka’s last year, and all of them went straight to Vinted for resell. This never happened to me with Bellroy - got already 4 of them (1 sling, 1 sidebag, 2 backpacks) and loving each and every one. I agree that in this review Alpaka could seem like a better choice, but trust me - once you try Alpaka vs. Bellroy in real life, you would NEVER prefer Alpaka. Bellroy is different league - design and usage experience at its best 🙏
I have an elements tech case and they advertised in their page that it fits a Fuji x100V and an iPad Mini. I bought it because of that and it’s not true, if you add the x100V you can’t add anything extra because the middle section pushes all to the sides. It also feels that is going to let my gear damaged very easy. I like it for small gear but they advertised it differently.
Well depends…..alpaka is way cheaper than the bellroy….and i carry an ipad 11….so the alpaka suit me just fine. The bellroy as far as im concerned all dont hv dedicated tablet compartment
@@Vpm8481 here’s the thing, iPad compartments in Alpaka have 0 protection because of the lack of padding. If the sling falls your iPad is done. Bellroy has a bit of padding in some of their products.
I have several of both. Alpaka when I'm wanting internal organization and bellroy when I just want to dump everything without a care. It appeals depending on the user's organizational habits and personal preference. I personally prefer the Alpaka items and the bellroy ones are annoying for me to use in real life lol. The only bellroy I really like is the 2.5 Venture Sling.
