Hey guys! A real quick look at the Go Sling Mini from ALPAKA. Just got it out to take a look at the features. The exterior X-Pac VX42 and interior orange make this a great option to complete your GORUCK Kaidan collection. Going forward I'll be comparing this to some other slings to see if it fits my travel mode. As always, thanks for watching! -JB

Picked this up and use it as my travel accessory when I go to places like Universal Studios, Disney, and other Theme Parks. Great to carry a battery pack, a few snacks, small first aid kit, and water bottle via carabiner.

Been using this daily for the past few weeks, coming from an everyday carry sling. Its an easy enough size to use (if you like using a bag), but I can imagine this being a great travel bag for when you wanna travel light for the day (camera/phone, keys, a can or two of soda/flask). I like to keep a few things within reach at all times, so at home I throw it in the room in, and Ive got eye drops, solution, usb c cable, charger, phone within reach. It has been really nice to have that ease. I wish the quality of zipper was higher (I removed the metal tabs and replaced with paracord pulls, metal tabs felt cheap) and waterproof - but thats honestly my only complaint.

Yeah, I sometimes wish I had ordered the dark camo as that's my usual jam but this black version matches the Kaidan stuff perfectly so we'll see what stays.

Thank you for posting this - similar boat here as I ordered the Kaidan Capsule from GORUCK and looking at this for a chest carry while using the GR2 on the go. Let me know how it works out for you

Lol just ordered it along with a stabilizer strap. Carry a full size 1911, still tryna find the perfect bag for it.

@@xRaHxEaStSidE yeh I've been using it for ccw last 2-3 weeks. It's ok. Fits a FS 1911. In the main compartment and I use the front and back for everything else. Dont want other stuff next to the firearm free floating. Just gotta stage it right for access. Will end up putting some paracord on the zippers to extra pull length. Will get the nutsack 13 and use its Molle panel for hooking a holster

@@bayshark7o7 I was thinking of using adhesive on the inside back panel (the one closest to your body) to permanently fix velcro and then using one of the many velcro holsters to hold my glock 30sf. Hoping that'll work, there's so many tactical looking "concealed carry" slings out there lol

They make some pretty cool modular magnetic attachments for that. I use those on my Bullet Ruck as well to carry my keys and ID when heading to work.

6:22 I wondering when you wear the sling on the chest and backpack on your back, will the fidlock buckle be uncomfortable? It seems a little bulky

@@zafuranfrio I actaully for the alpaka air sling V2, love it, materials are great there is jsut enough organisation for me but not too much and it very slim profile. I only carry a small amount so i didnt want a bulky sling. but alpaka make some quality goods

Does the switch oled fit in? That looks like the non oled version

From what I can find, the dimensions of the OLED version is near identical to the standard Switch with the controllers attached. So it should fit

Go Sling Mini or aer city sling 2? I know they are build different but can you recommend me this one or the city sling 2?

That's a tough call. I haven't used any of the AER slings. I have considered picking them up to compare though. In terms of size, the Go Sling is more like the Day Sling 2. The City Sling is only 2.5L where the Go and Day are both 4.5L. I do like the feature on the City Sling 2 where the straps can be stowed. Mostly will come down to what you are actually going to carry. If it's and iPad mini then the Go size is perfect.

I own both and would recommend the City Sling 2 just a tad over the Go Sling Mini. The two bags have different use cases: the City Sling is better for pocket relief, while the Go Sling excels at carrying bulkier gear without sacrificing slimness (the City Sling tends to bulge way out). The biggest point that makes me prefer the City Sling is the vastly better strap system. An absence of loose straps on the City Sling is a godsend over the Go Sling's more "classic" strap. If the strap isn't a concern, the Go Sling utilizes space much better and accommodates larger items (and Xpac is cheaper than the Cordura City Sling) To summarize Go Sling: Excellent space-to-slimness ratio, strap is meh City Sling: Great strap, struggles to stay slim, kinda expensive for Xpac

The City Sling is a great bag but for me I reach for the Go Sling Mini first ( I have the Xpac City Sling, not City Sling 2). The capacity of the Mini is perfect for what I like to carry and it remains slim. The aqua guard zippers on the Mini work a little bit smoother than on my City Sling but I did have to add zipper pulls to the Mini to make it a little bit quieter. Good luck!

The only time I’ve ever used a sling was when on was on a motorcycle or mountain bike to carry my pocket stuff so it wouldn’t lose it while riding. Other than that, my pockets are good enough the rest of the time for my edc. All other times, a backpack is what I’ll use if I want to carry more things with me. I find the one strap sling style a little sloppy and prefer two shoulder straps over that.

I tend to agree so far. Not sure it will fit my mode. I did find it helpful to carry various camera gear and it was nice to have easy access up front. I also think in the summer it will be much cooler with the sling if I only need a few things.
