i would group guns in 2 groups. lots of frigates will pop from half the volley so you can optimize speed at which you pop them. firing delay is pretty long. also, i dont see any benefit in using ASB in ratting. you want to be able to stick around for a while and its another type of ammo you have to carry with you.

Would you not want a salvager to salvage the pirates for the last high slot? Or is it not worth it?

If you want to salvage, i recommend fitting a thrasher with all 8 slots using salvagers. You can then jump in standing fleet and ask people if there is salvage. Most Ratters will keep ratting instead of salvaging and will leave behind large amounts of wrecks after they clear an anomaly. EDIT: Also, "SSS" means "I have salvage, tell me if you want it!". "SSS stacked" means that an MTU was used to get all the salvage into one neat pile for you.

Is it worth it to salvage? or the time is better spent ratting?

Salvage can be a good source of income, but its generally quicker to do it in a specialized ship as Khorne points out.
