Alpha Particle Spark Detector 

Thanks! Ya I had to add the resistor or an alpha particle would trigger a sustained arc from the wire to the plate.

@@Tesla210 i called it "guitar" not only bcs it looks like one but also because the wires kept swinging up and down apparently causing that, the last modification i made didn't have this issue but it was annoying af

@@redoverdrivetheunstoppable4637 The strings have to be really tight. If they are moving they aren’t tight enough.

@@Tesla210 my first try was with springs, one pulling spring every two wires, the wires turned around an edge to stay in place, but it worked bad, my second try was (is) by soldering the wires, it worked better, my detector looks a bit like a mouse trap... i see now there's a kinda loose wire, just one

Juntendo It’s an Americium-241 source out of a smoke detector.

Nice. I'll make it instead of buying alpha sensitive geiger tube. Maybe add counter circuit as well!

@@juntendo6104 you can't exactly compare a geiger tube with this, in my opinion

@@juntendo6104 those are both counters, i mean a geiger tube is less messy and probably more sensitive to radiation, also you can't (i say) detect beta and gamma
