Thanks for your in-depth honest review. Just ordered a set (Black) for my 2003 3rd Gen 2500. Right now for Black Friday they are discounted $166.00 and free shipping.
I love the look of these lights, and did consider them. But, even though taking the housings out and back inn is relatively easy.... I went for a housing with H7 bulb and adjustments from the front.
I purchased the Alpha Rex Novas based on your review and everything works as you indicated for my 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 with the exception of the turn signals which are hyper flashing. I note that like your video shows the emergency lights do not hyper flash. The video does not show turn signals only so I'm wondering if you experience hyper flash on your turn signals?
@@JustDiesels Thank you. Good to know. I have LED lights on the rear of my flatbed and now suspect that the lack of resistors on those lights is the cause.
Brightness is on par with Nova, and barely brighter with the Morimotos. The big benefit is the simplicity of wiring and install. With my custom retrofits, I had to mount HID ballasts, switchback drivers, resistors, relays… with these it’s just plug in to the factory harness and go. I do miss how unique the old lights were though. With these my truck look just like all the others.
So you said on an 06, it’s direct plug and play which it is but I was told if you run the cable to the fuse box, the running lights are MUCH brighter. Have you tried?
Yeah, the wiring harness for the drl's are brighter when hooked into the fuse block (I think fuse 65 or 66). They'll turn on when you either turn the key to accessory or start the truck then dim some when you turn the headlights on. Absolutely worth it and for an added safety feature bonus, your insurance with give you a discount since daytime running lights are a safety feature.
I have the Alpha rex pros, and decided to install LED Auxbeam GS-22 bulbs. At first I got the hyperflash/turn off syndrome. Installed Auxbeam canbus modules, the lights now work until I flick the Hihg beams more than 3 times within say 30 seconds. Any ideas on how to cure this? Auxbeam cust. Service is horrible and by text as far as I can tell. Thanks, and great info.
There definitely are! I have the same lights and have them set just where I like. You do have to remove them to adjust. Take a look at the instructions. They show how to adjust them!
@JustDiesels I had to look up the instructions on their website. 👍🏻The whole time, I was looking for screws. It looks more like an allen wrench with threads on the bottom half😤 I've never seen that before. Thanks again
What am I missing? I'm looking at the back of them right now and not seeing a way to adjust them. My passenger came aimed about a foot higher than the drivers side. Unusable at this point
