$1500 and no indicator on the jog wheels? It doesn't need a full display on the jogs but at least something like the indicator light on the jog wheels of the Rev-5 at minimum.
For this price there must be some LED graphics or at least BPM displays on the jogs. The fader and BPM range should be longer and there should be dedicated FX buttons above the cues. Everything else is solid.
Could it work with the osmo pocket 3 which now has Bluetooth built in, if so having your 360 video recorder you can really get creative with your ceremony on this device the Omnis Duo.
@@ClevelandTerry and what justify a price tag like that? Sorry but not sorry. And i think a lot of people think the same, at least all the DJs in my area.
@@ClevelandTerryThat's true. No streaming means it's an apples/oranges comparison. I am planning to get a mixstream pro go this week. The Bluetooth is nice but not enough in its current state. And the price doesn't help.
Denon doesn't have to respond. THAT's actually what Pioneer is doing here, responding to the Prime Go which if I'm not mistaken has more features. And at a $1500 price tag the Prime Go is the better value. I love pioneer but damn, come on...
@@djeslic5377 Yep. 100% agree, Denon's still has more features, and they're tripping with that price tag. I couldn't in good faith recommend this knowing the Prime Go exists.
This reminds me of the Stanton controller that came out about 10 years ago. It was decent, but too far ahead of its time, and lacked a lot of the functionality we've grown accustomed to.
Yeah sometimes it's all about timing. I had a Denon HS5500 CD player that had dual outputs in 2009 meaning you used Serato that went out from one deck. All you needed was a 2 channel mixer. But it was ahead of it's time.
Cleveland why do the jog wheels have a light blue ring in the middle of them but doesn’t do anything? Would be nice if they lit up as the track played.
I can appreciate the recording from phone feature and the Bluetooth audio out,as well as battery power. But it's hideous, has no pad modes, no stem controls, etc. Hard pass but makes me excited for whats possible in future hardware
You mentioned none eq kill.. but at the end you show it has ISO setting. I realize you probably didn't have long to make the video and didn't spend much time with it, luckily I watched or I would have walked away thinking a bad eq with no kill. How is the build quality it looks very much like a flx 4 build
Pioneer has such a dominant market share in the Dj business and the name is synonymous with great high end DJ equipment and they’re changing it? I know people that buy pioneer gear just to say that they own a piece of pioneer gear. It’s like McDonald’s changing their name to burger rainbow ridiculous.
This looks cool, and the bluetooth sampling is interesting. As a Prime Go owner, I would caution against believing any promises that the controller will be compatible with Serato until said compatibility is up and running. Still, if you don't have a battery powered stand alone DJ console and you're looking for one, this is a decent option.
I this unit only supports Serato lite you have pay for Serato Pro where as the RX3 supports Pro already. The Duo loos good but there are other bits of kit out there that do the same and more for much less money.
@@ClevelandTerry Sorry man, hope I didn't come across as being offensive, I was just genuinely curious. You were the first person I had heard mention streaming was actually coming. Thanks for clarifying! Looking forward to my Duo arriving in a couple weeks.
The XDJ-Aero had bluetooth streaming from your phone in 2012. I sold mine, it was a great controller. I'm currently using the XDJ-1000 with a windows laptop.
Honestly the XDJ R1 and Aero were solid hardware, but the big difference between them and this, is I actually wanted to use them, I genuinely just don't like how it looks, looks like it was designed by Meta, not one of the more respected DJ gear companies in the world.
In my mind, this is update of the Pioneer XDJ RR. A lot of the negativity I've seen is from people expecting a more professional device, but I think this is perfect for what it needs to be. I wish it had two USB inputs. I'm always DJing with others and everyone just runs Rekordbox USBs.
@@atypical_blk_guy that's a good point. The build quality looks on the lower end to me, but yes the $1,500 price tag is high. Though their XDJ RR still sells for $1K and that's the entry level of their stand alone. The RR came out in September of 2018. I keep comparing this to the RR because this feels like the 2024 version of that and is not on par with the RX3 or the Opus.
That's cool to hear this is a flagship product of Alpha Theta (a company I've never heard of) . I'm going to take a look thanks for the review. No it's not a big deal - it's showing a bit of transparancy actually. It doesn't look blue except the accents, it looks grey on my computer.
I respect your channel alot but all they did was run out of ideas and grabbed a few controllers ideas and dropped on this no problem with it but why not start at a $600 I see it growing but not at this price point
I’ve watched three videos on this controller, and nobody is mentioning anything about LATENCY on the jog wheels, WHILE ON BLUETOOTH!! Scratching is a big thing for me
Because you would absolutely not dj with Bluetooth speakers using your ears. The only way is to mix is in ear only. That was true before this and will be true after this. Too much latency.
The duo part is pretty acurate as it resembles a #2 pretty accurately = 💩💩💩 I used my Denon Prime Go on pretty crappy wifi over the holidays and instantly loaded tracks from Beatsource and Beatport via Wifi Streaming with prerendered music waveforms and track info instantly loaded on my screen from curated playlists and latest releases. Bluetooth? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I find it extremely ugly. While I would love a standalone battery controller I don’t think I can get over that design. The jogwheels are so plain. Don’t see many spending $1500 on this thing🤷🏻♂️
I'm glad to see more options in the AIO space. The Bluetooth stuff is really cool. Great review/walkthrough. Though I believe you that it's a step up in quality from something like the Numark Mixstream, the irony is that (to me at least), it looks cheaper. Really hard to say (and quantify), without seeing it in person. On a second look I think it is the continuous top panel that is throwing me off (compared to other units that have a texture difference or dividing line between the mixer and the decks). With any luck this will push Engine to figure out the rumored Bluetooth in their hardware (even if it is just simply a wireless aux).
One thing I can never understand when it comes to people and cost things is, instead of just buying what you can afford and making the best of it, they go out their way to complain and compare about the competing companies price and approach! SMH!
Gotta disagree there Cleveland to each its own it’s the answer to the mixstream pro go which actually looks much better then this unit the speakers on the MSPG ARE INCREDIBLE !! The faders sound better then this clicky sounding Omnis, the blue looks horrible, looks like a matte (finish fingerprint heaven) I would actually buy the Mix Stream Pro Go over this unit IMO!!
No stems poor efx no serato dj pro small screen to much plastic no led on the pad or jog it look kids controller for $1500 over price I’m going to do a video in español today thank mr terry for the video
Why, why is literally every major DJ-channel on Yt in every review of this Omnis Chaos so fixated on being able to record and play every audio from your phone?!?! I've never once thought or wished as a DJ that I needed to record or use random audio from my phone....weird
To be honest, whatever I think wouldn't be unbias. I'm looking at it from a Prime GO owner's perspective. I will say that having options is a beautiful thing. Brand tribalism within the DJ community has gotten so toxic. Nothing wrong with liking what you like but liking something doesn't mean bashing the competition.
I wasn't really impressed until you showed me the Bluetooth import. So you're basically telling me I can use my cellphone's Spotify, RU-vid Music, Apple Music, Amazon Music, etc. That's actually pretty kool.
@@ClevelandTerry big man I'm listening to you n the controller...I'm hearing the issue now..loud ass taps...trash...if my opinion dumb...what you're uttering right now sounds dumb to me
